Vibraphonist Joe Locke talks with Mike Jeffers about his upcoming performance at the Lionel Hampton Birthday celebration happening April 20, 2019 at the Music Institute of Chicago. Joe Locke previews the concert where he will be joined by vibraphonist Thaddeus Tukes and vocalist Tammy McCann along with the Music Institute of Chicago jazz faculty.

Mike Jeffers talks with saxophonist Justin Robinson ahead of his performances at Chicago's Jazz Showcase March 28th-31st. On this Episode of Talking Jazz Mike Jeffers visits Elmhurst College ahead of the 52nd annual Elmhurst College Jazz Festival (February 21st-24th) and talks with the Director of Jazz Studies, Doug Beach. They discuss the festival, all of the college and high school bands that participate and the headliners which include Mike Stern, Michael Davis, John Fedchock and Randy Brecker. 

 

They also discuss the jazz program at Elmhurst College and the faculty that makes it all happen.
