Children Beware of Idols Podcast

M

I had a dream once

I could fly away

I had a dream

The city voices fade

Flying higher everyday

Is all I wanna do

Flying to a lovely place

Where all they want is

You as you are, not in costume

The songbird only sings when’s he’s ready

When the sunrise brings a song on the shore

Where he stays where he plays forever

No one says do better, no one says be brighter

No one says there’s no time and the world and a dime

Is the matter of a child

No one says it

No one says it

I had a dream once

All we did was playNo one keeps rhythm

No one’s on parade

Flying higher everyday

Is all I wanna do

Flying to a better place

Where all they want is

You as you are….

Bridge:

How could you make him feel lonely?

While a million know his name and

How could you rob him of the joy

In the song he might have given up

He might have stayed away

But he heard a voice saying

I’ll turn the mourning into dancing

Heard himself say despite

All the ways I may grow strange

I know that I have a role to play

Final Chorus:

I can turn the stage from a prison to something of the stars

I’m not fleeing now that I can have a say

I say no to the way it’s been done beforeWho says I can’t do more for those who

Dream of islands far away

I can say don’t go so far away

The joy that you are longing for is here

If you look for it

If you want it
