What does it look like to take an integrative approach to having "the talk"? How can we make these conversations a normal and regular part of our parenting?
This week we discussed the baptism process of Riverside and the desire for the leadership for parents and children to feel educated and equipped to discuss, discern, and engage in the development of faith in our families.
We are spending the next month of our series looking at various topics of family discipleship. This week, we will look at the big concepts and some key scripture to set the stage for future discussion.
In this session, we focused on the spiritual and practical applications of disciplining our children. We discussed what the end goal for our children’s discipline is, as well as practical ways to stay on course during difficult seasons of parenting. Overall, we looked at discipline as a part of our worship.
This week we will discuss and define: temperament, processing, and love languages in order to assess what makes us and our children tick. Then we will apply this to a specific type of temperament: the strong willed child.
In the last week of our opening series, we will look at the final stage of developmental and spiritual development: facilitating independence.
In the second week of our series, we will look at the first two stages of parenting as laid out in the parent series (Parenting by Design). We will consider what these two stages look like and practically how we engage them.
In the first week of out parenting series we will look at a basic overview of biblical parenting.
