Three months ago I did Ayahuasca for the first time. It was one of the most difficult experiences of my life, but ultimately it gave me exactly what I needed.
After a long journey with various psychedelic therapies I can confidently attest to the life-changing benefits of these bizarre ancient medicines. My life-long chronic depression is gone, I'm off all prescription drugs, and I'm the healthiest I've ever been both mentally and physically.
I do not think this path makes sense for everyone, but I feel compelled to tell my story to raise awareness for those who may find similar benefits.
This episode is a deep dive on the origins of the Hemp industry and our attempt to clarify the nuances of consumable hemp products and the laws that regulate them. We talk about the differences between synthetic versions of THC vs natural delta-9 THC, and the evolution of cannabis laws in the US from medical to recreational to hemp.
We also break down the newest Hemp industry lawsuit from Green Nation and the Texas Hemp Constitutional Alliance (jointhca.org), and why we think it's the industry's best shot at stopping DSHS from rewriting Texas hemp laws.
Happy Monday, y'all! Welcome back to episode 5 of The Chill Country Report.
This episodes starts off slow but leads to some good convos about our views on AI, brand strategy, navigating life like a game of Jenga, and Chris's upcoming trip back home to the Virgin Islands to heal childhood trauma.
Instead of forcing a new recording every Monday, we are only going to record new episodes when we actually have something worthwhile to report. Might be multiple episodes in one week or no episodes. Our goal is to make sure we actually have good stuff to talk about.

Welcome back to episode 4 of The Chill Country Report.
Justin reveals his second favorite actor of all-time.
Chris did a deep dive on the two lawsuits filed on behalf of the Texas Hemp industry. NOT LEGAL ADVICE, but he believes the new hemp laws created by DSHS are going to get overturned. He also wrote a breakdown on our blog, read it here.
I posted some social media content over the weekend that didn't perform well and it's triggering unresolved childhood trauma. I'm looking forward to working through it during an upcoming Ayahuasca retreat at the end of May.

Welcome back to episode 3 of The Chill Country Report.
Justin was dragged to The Last Dinner Party and it ended up being one of the best live shows he's ever seen. He also did some research on the origins of the stoner holiday 420 and gave us a recap (read his blog post about it).
Chris got a bracelet and did more yard work while listening to Big Booty Mix.
I went to the Goodwill bins and listened to the new Kanye album (sadly, it's awful).
We are running a 420 sale on chillcountry.com, but we DO NOT support 420 and think it's super lame. But use code 420 at checkout. Sale ends 4/21/26.
Have a chill day,
Madison
Happy Monday y'all!
We're back for episode 2 of The Chill Country Report.
Justin's AC at his house is broken, but instead of getting mad about it he's practicing gratitude.
Chris got shot up with too many anxiety darts last week, so on Friday he decided to close his laptop and do yard work all day instead.
I battled my inner critic while editing the first episode of this podcast. He's super judgmental and thinks this show sucks. I honestly think it's pretty fun, so we'll have to agree to disagree.
We're recording new episodes every Monday morning. If you enjoy the show, throw us a like and subscribe to our YouTube channel. If you prefer listening to your podcasts on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, you can find us there too.
