Chill with The Chola Archive – Definitive Downtempo

The_Chola_Back_To_The_Lounge_080107 After taking a two month hiatus from the loungey side of chillout, I decided it was time to get back to the roots of this show and head “Back to the Lounge!” Don’t get me wrong, I have enjoyed creating the last two podcasts, but, there really is something about jazzy bossa novas, sambas, … Continue reading Back to the Lounge 08-01-07

The_Chola_Good_Evening_Space_Travelers_070207 This month’s mix is dedicated to my friends at http://www.lounge-radio.com. Wow, what a month! In this episode I decided to slow things down a bit and really explore those great synthetic landscapes and atmospheres that so many talented artists have created for us. While the show is certainly much dreamier than normal, it is … Continue reading Good Evening Space Travelers 07-02-07

The_Chola_JazzSteppin_060107 I decided to switch gears a bit for this month’s show by exploring some sub-genres of Drum ‘n’ Bass music. I am a firm believer in the idea that tempo is just a small part of what makes a piece of music appropriate for chilling out. More important is a piece of music’s rhythm, … Continue reading Jazz Steppin’ 06-01-07

The_Chola_BossaChola_050107 As the name of this month’s podcast may “elude,” I have decided to put together a complete show featuring songs from “newer” Bossa Nova/ Samba artists. There is certainly something perfect about these downtempo genres for chilling out! While I am fond of all types of Latin music, to me, Bossanova and Samba are … Continue reading Bossa Chola 05-01-07

The_Chola_Positive_Persuasion_040107 For my April Podcast I found myself being driven towards a positive influence. While listening to this 70 minute downtempo mix, I think you will find yourself transcending a simple state of relaxation. … Continue reading Positive Persuasion 04-01-07

The_Chola_Urban_Cocktails_030707 Take some smoothed out lounge music, add a splash of hip hop, and stir in a little jazz for mixer and you have got an “Urban Cocktail Hour!” If you like your cocktail hours loungy and your hip hop jazzy, you’ll love this mix! For this month’s mix, I found myself inspired to play … Continue reading Urban Cocktail Hour 03-07-07

The_Chola_020907 I had some problems with 02/09/07’s archive and inadvertantly deleted the original episode. This is a repost. 1. Krivi – Cafe Del Montenegro – Original Mix 2. Kevin Yost – Deep Inside My Soul – 8 Till Late Mix 3. Donati – E’ Preciso Perdoar – Original Mix 4. Euphonic 7 – Then Came … Continue reading Repost of February 9th’s Show: Downtempo Mix 02/09/07
