So near and yet so far”. Somehow as Christians we should never be spiritually satisfied with the sizzling smell of the barbeque when there is a steak to be eaten! This is what Ezekiel (and Jesus) talk to us about this morning...

Have you ever been speaking with someone in front of you, but also loud enough so another person in the room can get the message? I think that is what we have in Ezekiel's prophesy today. It might be good for us to listen in- there may be some really helpful insights.

Ezekiel sees God as a shepherd calling out to his sheep. Jesus takes up the analogy; He is the Good Shepherd calling you by name to have an intimate relationship with Him.

God spoke to Ezekiel and promised a New Covenant for the people of Israel with a new promise that He would put His Spirit within them if they....... removed their  heart of stone and then He would give them a heart of flesh.

It’s easy to decry the bad or neglect that others do - but what about me? What would happen if nobody ever addressed the problem?

God speaks in many ways - sometimes even in odd ways - the book of Ezekiel is proof of that. This week - mystery, worship, and God revealing Himself...
