Progress continues on a possible Phase One deal with talk of the US reducing tariffs and some goodwill gestures from the Chinese side. The China International Import Expo (CIIE) saw broader US participation this year and the opportunity for some USCBC engagement with local officials. Last week, China’s Fourth Plenum, a meeting of the Central Committee of the CCP, came to a conclusion. This has been the first plenum since February of last year, a longer gap than usual.
