Seth Rogen and his wife Lauren Miller Rogen are big advocates for brain health. They believe that everyone can take steps to protect their brain health, and they share their own five brain health habits that they do every day:

    1. Get enough sleep. The Rogens say that they aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night. They also try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day to help regulate their sleep cycles.
    2. Eat a healthy diet. The Rogens focus on eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. They also limit their intake of processed foods, sugary drinks, and unhealthy fats.
    3. Exercise regularly. The Rogens try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week. They enjoy activities like hiking, biking, and swimming.
    4. Manage stress. The Rogens find different ways to manage stress, such as meditation, yoga, and spending time in nature. They also make sure to take breaks throughout the day to relax and recharge.
    5. Challenge your mind. The Rogens believe that it's important to keep your brain active by learning new things and doing activities that require mental stimulation. They enjoy reading, playing games, and doing puzzles.
    6. The Rogens' five brain health habits are simple but effective ways to protect your brain health. By following these habits, you can help keep your brain sharp and healthy for years to come.

Here are some additional tips for brain health from the Rogens:

      • Get regular checkups with your doctor to screen for any potential brain health problems.
      • Stay informed about the latest research on brain health.

Welcome to another episode of Chip Chats. Today, we’re shedding light on a growing worldwide concern - childhood obesity. It’s a problem that now affects over 124 million children and is associated with numerous health issues. Let’s take a closer look:
        1. Childhood obesity is a growing problem worldwide, not just in wealthier nations.
        2. Body Mass Index, or BMI, a common measure of obesity, may not be the best method for individuals. Experts are exploring alternatives.
        3. Kids are consuming more calories than they’re using. Parents’ behaviors can influence these habits significantly.
        4. The surroundings where children live, learn, and play significantly affect their lifestyle choices.
        5. Social factors like access to safe playgrounds, quality education, and healthcare can impact children’s health.
        6. Eating processed food and not moving around enough are big contributors to childhood obesity.
        7. Screen time is an area of concern, with kids becoming more sedentary due to increased usage of devices.
        8. Parents often struggle to find safe outdoor spaces for their kids to play.
        9. Health experts aim to make healthy choices easier, but societal factors can make this difficult.
        10. Policies and programs targeting these societal factors could greatly help reduce childhood obesity. Examples include investing in community resources or implementing taxes on unhealthy foods.
That’s our roundup for today. Remember, childhood obesity is a preventable issue that requires our collective attention and efforts. We hope you found today’s episode insightful. • Appalachian Trail → Winging it
On July the 3rd, at the last minute, I decided to book a flight from Palm Beach International to the Atlanta Airport and go hike in the Appalachian Mountains. Well, I've done a number of adventures, but overnight hiking with a backpack full of all of your gear, weighing 50 pounds, including food and fluid, was something that took me way beyond my comfort zone. And as I got to the drop-off from my Uber car and I commenced the multi-hour walk up the Appalachian Approach Trail, I started to feel extreme fatigue and it was difficult for me. So when I had approximately three hours to go and it was getting late in the afternoon, I saw a sign that said, Hike In One Mile Away. And I said, Oh my goodness. Is there actually an inn there? Well, I decided to chance it and I thought that worst case scenario, there'd be some place I could pitch my tent. Well, anyway, it became my home base called Linfoot Inn and it is an environmentally friendly and ecologically advanced non-profit and that became a home base. And so what you're doing now is you are taking this prompt and you're going to write a ten minute script for my monologue podcast that details the Amicalola Falls in Georgia, magnificent waterfalls, the fauna and flora of the Appalachian Mountains, the difficulties of trekking in that harsh environment. You're going to do this all in the first person voice and conversational prose with a positive attitude.

      • Ken Foote Hiking Inn → Dancing in the Rain ☔️
Hiking 🥾 the Appalachian Mountains ⛰️ in the rain 🌧️ whilst lodging in the mountain magic Ken Foote Hiking Inn.
A hike in the woods & a backcountry inn come together to say “hi, you belong here.”
The five-mile trek through the foothills of North Georgia is just the beginning of a unique experience. A friendly face, a welcoming smile, a warm meal and a soft bed all greet you at trail’s end.
Everyone comes to the Hike Inn for different reasons. Some come to spend time with nature. Some come to spend time with family and friends. Others simply come to escape their daily routine. No matter the reason, the result is the same. People come here as guests. They usually leave as fans, friends and — in a sense — part of our family. What makes the Hike Inn unique is not any one experience, but its ability to make everyone feel like they’re a part of something special. Everyone belongs here.

#Chiponomics → There are Americans who feel like they are sinking in quicksand, and it's not just in their heads. Many Americans are retired or incapable of producing the needed monies to keep up with their rent or food bills. Elected officials espouse ongoingly about equality and raising all Americans living standards. In reality, these seem like promises that are merely platitudes.
