Today we speak about choices...
We start by asking how much you believe you are (0:20) in control of your daily routine and the external influences on your behaviour.
Cognitive bias... how does it effect us? We explore idea such as the law of small numbers, anchoring, availability heuristic (and the larger threat of an "availability cascade" within public sphere).
We move on to speak on (2:49) alongside other biases such as frequent exposure bias, sunk-cost fallacy, loss aversion and the endowment effect.
Ultimately we make (04:49) choices but are faced with companies fighting for our attention at all costs, which makes 'Deep Work' more invaluable.
'Deep Work' (6:20) is explored in more depth. A book by Cal Newport, who believes Deep Work is the "Superpower of the 21st Century." We look at how employers value deep work and how it is becoming increasingly rare, which makes us more valuable to the work place when we decide (10:40) to learn how to utilise 'Deep Work'.
We end with some (16:00) plans for the Podcast as we move into April and the end of our one-podcast-per-day under "Marathon March."
