Cholangiocarcinoma, also known as bile duct cancer, is a type of cancer consisting of a mutant epithelial cell (or a cell that exhibits epithelial differentiation). Cholangiocarcinoma originates in the bile ducts that excrete bile from the liver into the small intestine.
