  • Season 1: Episode 12: Lets Talk About Trauma and Repressed Memories
**Trigger  Warning: trauma, abuse, repressed memories** Today's episode is an emotional ass trip to science and psychology class as we walk down memory lane and I share how trauma has personally shaped my memories, relationships and emotional intelligence. You also get to hear an amazing side bar about why I LOVE Black funerals. It was exhausting and cathartic and I cried a little, so if you feel sad about me crying and want to buy me a cookie, cake, coffee, chocolate, whiskey, wine, bath salts and other shit that healthy people indulge in when they have emotional responses to shit, my Cash App is $Sonjacharde and Venmo is @sonjacharde. Oh, and I've got merch coming soon and as soon as it's live, I'll let ya'll know! Friendly reminder that you can send me any comments, questions, feedback or hit me up about being a guest on an episode at [email protected] Or on IG @choochontheloose. Lots of love to you all.

  • Season 1: Episode 10: Let's Talk About Domestic Violence
**Trigger  Warning: addiction, mental abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse.** October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Today I have a heart to heart with a person who has one of the biggest spaces in my heart, my mom, the Queen of my life, Maria Nelly Davila.  We talk about her experience as a DV survivor, how she left, how she is beginning to heal, how we mended our relationship and how living this experience continues to effect both of our lives decades after the fact. If you or someone you know needs help, you can go to thehotline.org or call 800-799-SAFE (7233).  Also, I'm tech savvy AF because I learned how to add a sound to alert you that a sponsor ad is coming on. Wow, I'm so smart and wise.  Friendly reminder that you can send me any comments, questions, feedback or hit me up about being a guest on an episode at [email protected] Or on IG @choochontheloose

  • Season 1 Episode 9: Lets Talk About Post Partum Depression
This week I meet with my friend Cynthia Padilla Pearson to discuss Post Partum Depression which is stupidly called the "baby blues." Cynthia is Puerto Rican (Weeeeeeepppppppaaaaaaaaa) so you get to enjoy us saying some Spanglish, if that's your thing (why wouldn't it be your thing, though?). Cynthia is passionate AF about women's rights as it pertains to safety and is an advocate to end violence against women and is a  leader in victim rights advocacy in Atlanta. She also has a business, Trauma Conflict Consulting that helps people navigate trauma and conflict in the workplace and in life by teaching skills that include more that using Vicks Vapor Rub (read that as "Vi Vapoo Roo" in a Spanglish accent) as the cure all for all of our shit. Bc newsflash - it's NOT the cure. You can follow her business on IG @traumaconflictconsulting to learn more.  This podcast was recorded at a local coffee shop (shout out to Gilly Brew Bar, it's Black owned) because COVID is a cock blocker and we can't be at each other's houses. As a result, there's some background noise. It adds character, and everyone loves character, so please don't let it deter you from listening. Also, Cynthia has a nice angelic voice and mine is loud AF and not angelic at all so sometimes my voice is louder than hers. Please adjust and readjust your volume accordingly, it's worth the listen and I promise I'll learn how to edit audio and cut out background noise and whatnot soonish (send HALP). For resources on Post Partum Depression, search the hashtag #PPD on InstaGram or go to PostPartum.net or https://www.cdc.gov/reproductivehealth/depression/index.htm. Be sure to subscribe/rate/review on Apple Podcasts, follow on Spotify, Google Podcasts and Anchor, text a friend or share it to your social media :) Oh, and friendly reminder that you can send me any comments, questions, feedback or hit me up about being a guest on an episode at [email protected] Or on IG @choochontheloose. I love you all.

  • Season 1 Episode 8: Let's Talk About Why Catcalling IS NOT How You Get The Cat
This week I'm feeling throw some hot grits from a stove and swing a cast iron skillet to someone's head angry. Heads up that this episode is balls to the walls style so it's non-scripted and I took no notes beforehand. I talk about my experiences being catcalled/street harassed, how it infuriates me to my core and how I rarely feel safe in my own body as a woman out in public spaces in the world. I really need to make more $ via sponsors/ad listens so that I can reach my big life time goal of being fed fruit while laying on a bed of money naked in a fur. Soooo, to help me help you (because when this happens, there could be pics!) by being sure to subscribe/rate/review on Apple Podcasts, follow on Spotify, Google Podcasts and Anchor, text a friend or share it to your social media :) Oh, and friendly reminder that you can send me any comments, questions, feedback or hit me up about being a guest on an episode at [email protected] Or on IG @choochontheloose. I love you all. Except street harassers. I don't fucking love y'all AT ALL.

  • Season 1 Episode 7: Let's Talk About Fertility... Or Lack Thereof
This week I have a real and very fucking raw convo with one of my bravest, strongest and closest friends, more like a sister, Jillian Mazzariello-Ahee, about her non-traditional journey to become a mother.  We also talk about how her hot lesbian wife loves to kiss me (*wink, wink*). Not safe for your fucking kidsssssssssss. But my kid makes a 2 second debut on the episode, so apparently it's safe for him! Friendly reminder that you can send me any comments, questions, feedback or hit me up about being a guest on an episode at [email protected] Or on IG @choochontheloose

  • Season 1: Episode 5: Let's Talk About Some Of The Complexities I've Experienced In Motherhood
Today I share a raw, unedited, unscripted story about my journey as a Black single parent to a special needs child. I struggled about whether or not to do this, because people LOVE to be Judge Ass Judy when it comes to motherhood and I don't have the mental bandwidth to deal with that...but what the fuck ever. Let the Shaming Sheila's shame. I feel like there may be a woman out there who feels the same way I do and she may need to hear my story so she is affirmed that she is not alone, not a bad mother and not a horrible person. As always, email our very official AF email address [email protected] to provide any comments, suggestions or questions or if you wanna be a guest and talk about some shit with me.

  • Season 1 Episode 4: Let’s talk about all things Blackness with my favorite cousin of all times
Today’s episode is a conversation with my amazing fuckin cousin, Rohan DaCosta. We started out talking about respectability politics among Black ppl + ended up talking about all things Blackness. This podcast is NOT sensitive to White privilege or White tears so, hide your sensitive White fragility. Issa lil longer than my other ones (okay a lot) but Rohan has a beautiful mind that you’ll wanna hear everything he has to say. He’s an amazingly talented artist in Oakland + you can follow him at @unruly_dacosta on Instagram and buy his poetry book at Nomadic Press. I was drinking Guidance Whiksey (neat) again - they really need to sponsor me. As always, email our very official AF email address [email protected] to provide any comments, suggestions or questions or if you wanna be a guest and talk about some shit with me.

  • Season 1 Episode 3: Let’s talk about why capitalism is trash + fuck that always hustling mentality
Today’s episode is a response to an email from a listener, my White soul brother, N.K., asking me to “do an episode on why capitalism is evil and blame White people for it. You know I’m here for it!” Look at my listeners coming through! A few ads and a Guidance and Kava Whiskey shout out (not sponsored - but it fuckin could be) As always, email our very official AF email address [email protected] to provide any comments, suggestions or questions.
