The words of Jesus “just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family you did it to me.” Are deeply confusing to those gathered before him as they can be for us these many years later. This text in Matthew is often used to divide and judge each other on who will enter the kingdom of heaven. Yet, Jesus’ message has nothing to do with belief and everything to with our choice to love our neighbor. That is the king Jesus has come to be for this world and the kingdom we are called to bring here on Earth.
