Day 4: DIY BRAIN SURGERY

Your mind is designed to control your body, not the other way around.
Your brain responds to your thinking, not the other way around.
As we think and imagine, we change the structure and function of our brains.
These are the steps of the 21 Day Mind Detox:
GATHER
Holy Spirit WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?
REPLACE
WHAT IS HEALTHY TO DWELL ON?
WRITE
DOWN TO MAKE THEM PART OF YOU
REVISIT
WHERE HAVE I COME FROM? WHERE AM I GOING?
REACH
WHAT GOOD WOULD OVERCOME EVIL?

Does "brain surgery" matter to Jesus and our walk with him?
The core word of Jesus’ teaching is METANOIA.
META means change, as in transformation from the inside out
NOIA is the Greek word for MIND.
Metanoia means "Change of Mind"
By the way, the word, METANOIA, we translate that as REPENTANCE.
The call of Jesus is to change our way of thinking.
How does repentance work within us?
You are made up of body, soul, and spirit.
Your Body is the GATEWAY through hearing, selling, touching, taste, and seeing.
“…Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you.” 1 Corinthians 6:19 Your body matters it is to be a temple for God to live within. That’s why the battle. designed to be filled with God’s spirit.
‘…Do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead…” Romans 6:13
Your SOUL is your mind (not your brain, for that is an organ of your BODY that your mind thinks through), will, and emotions.
Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
Your SPIRIT is your GUARDHOUSE through worship, prayer and the ability to hear God speak.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Notice the order here. From the spirit to the soul and at last the body. This is the order of the spirit-filled life.
What is THINKING?
Your spirit reads your soul.
For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? 1 Corinthians 2:11
Where do you THINK?
We think with our heart. The heart is the bridge between the soul and the spirit.
But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? Matthew 9:4
Only the word of God can sort out the argument between your soul and the spirit within you.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
