Chop Shop Economics

Welcome, Chop Shop fans, to the latest from the dumpsterfire that is 2020! Whether we're looking at the horrors of re-opening Disney World, Washington DC totally fucking up COVID aid, the sound and fury over TikTok, the collapse of the Lebanese government, or workers in the US and UK taking the fight to the powerful there's plenty to go around for everyone.

Welcome, Chop Shop fans, to the Doomsday Special! As it's all the rage for shitlibs at the Boston Globe and Intercepted to speculate how badly Election Day 2020 might go, we figured it would only be proper for us to join in. We hope you enjoy our very first Doomsday Special!

It's finally here. The Eviction Crisis. After many long weeks of haunting the business pages it has arrived thanks to Congress' most spectacularly awful display of grabass in recent memory as seen in their total fumbling of the COVID relief package. But don't worry, Chop Shop fans, cause we'll be there with you as you fight your foreclosure, stand on the picket line, and fight the police. They fucked around, now everyone finds out.

Join the Chop Shop crew as we dig into the school re-openings debate with public school teachers Olivia and C. Derick Varn. They have the story on how schools are preparing for instruction during COVID, what this means for teachers, students, and families, and what we can all do about it.

Welcome back, Chop Shop fans, for more headlines from the End Times! Join us for Congress fumbling the eviction crisis, Pineapple Al Capone, the Navy's ships catching fire, PACT pissing people off, and the Boston Globe's latest doomerism. Never forget, listeners, one story's end is another's beginning!

Joining us today in the studio is Simon, the lead singer of the British Anarchist Black Metal band Dawn Ray'd. We talk with Simon about how the band got started, their main influences, life in COVID Britain, the impact of the pandemic on artists, Black Lives Matter in the UK, and Overgrow to Overthrow, a benefit compilation for Black Lives Matter and Life After Hate.

Welcome back, Chop Shop listeners, for another round on the house! Tonight's drink list includes a slug of Major Bank Failure, a pint of Trumpist Fascism, and a whole bucket of IMF Thinks the US is F*cked. We finish off the evening with a deep dive into whether or not the events in Portland are the American Reichstag Fire moment or the beginning of the end of this whole rotten mess.

Joining us today is Farah, a Black Trans activist and philosopher currently active in San Diego. We ask Farah what's happening on the ground in San Diego, what's driving these big shifts in how people are thinking and taking action in the United States, and what this might mean in the days and weeks ahead.

Join us today, Chop Shop listeners, for the return of St. Helen and the re-opening of Disney World! Whether you're talking the British who are just dying for a pint, the Americans who still believe in the V-Shape and see nothing wrong with risking the lives of children, California taking on Wall Street, or the Strike for Black Lives there is something for everyone!
