Chris and Reggie's Cosmic Treadmill

"Don't know what you've got, til it's gone" - A Disney Princess (we think)

It was with this flurry of episodes that Chris (@acecomics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) learned that the Young Animal imprint was going to draw to a close just three months later.  It was bittersweet news, to say the very least... but somehow, we managed to keep our will to live.

Today's discussions originally aired in segment form during the following episodes of the Weird Science DC Comics Podcast:

Episode 174 (05.06.2018) - Shade the Changing Woman #3

Episode 175 (05.13.2018) - Eternity Girl #3

Episode 176 (05.20.2018) - Cave Carson Has an Interstellar Eye #3

Episode 177 (05.27.2018) - Mother Panic: Gotham A.D. #3

Episode 178 (06.03.2018) - Young Animal "Season Two" Halftime Report

Yes... we're only four episodes in... it's another bwah-ha-ha book, but there's a special reason for that.  And really, that's not the meat and potatoes of this episode anyway.  This time out, Chris (@acecomics) is joined by another Chris... Chris Bailey (@Charlton_Hero) of the SuperHero Satellite who shares the origins of the Mighty Super-Blog Team-Up!

After Chris (the usual one) discusses his first offering to #SuperBlogTeamUp, Chris (the other one) shares his comic book "secret origin"!  From his early days, reading coverless comics that missed the trash can... to his introduction to the internet comics community.

Then... the main event, from the germ of an idea of a blogging crossover, to what became the Super-Blog Team-Up!

All that... plus, a special announcement!  It's a great time... check it out!

Greetings, Jordanites and Jordanettes! In this episode, anti-Apartheid protesters Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) continue their look at the Green Lantern parts of Action Comics Weekly from 1988-1989, this week covering issues #615 through #623, and Green Lantern Special #1 from 1988! Providing biographical information for creators along the way, our weekly warriors go through every page of these issues, lending their arguable vocal talents and commentary. It's another oft-forgotten chunk of Green Lantern history, you don't want to miss this!

We enter the second month of Young Animal's "Season Two"... and it feels like the writing might already be on the wall.  In other news... we actually discuss an issue of Doom Patrol this time around!  Yay?

Um, yeah... about that... we don't usually break out the "colorful language" warning... but, here we be.

Today's discussions originally aired in segment form during the following episodes of the Weird Science DC Comics Podcast:

Episode 170 (04.08.2018) - Shade the Changing Woman #2

Episode 171 (04.15.2018) - Eternity Girl #2

Episode 172 (04.22.2018) - Cave Carson Has an Interstellar Eye #2

Episode 173 (04.29.2018) - Mother Panic: Gotham A.D. #2 & Doom Patrol (vol.6) #11

Shazam, everbody! In this episode of Comics Stories, Reggie (@reggiereggie) reads an essay written by C.C. Beck, and published in the book Streetwise (edited by Jon Cooke and John Morrow, 2000), titled "Preacher's Son." It's a fascinating look at Beck's life and his mind, with lots of great anecdotes and few punches pulled. No stone is left unturned in this essay, here's hoping you all enjoy listening!
