This month Chris treats us to just over 60 minutes of straight up great house music. Rumor has it the mix was compiled on board a flight en route to Ibiza's Cream Terrace at Amnesia, not bad hey... We know what you must be thinking, no podcast in December and now the March edition is missing, how sketchy is Chris Lake? Well, in his defense, when he left London six weeks ago to start his debut album tour of North America, he had the very best intentions. Sound cards were packed, the mic was in the hand-luggage and soundcards safely stowed away... or so we thought. The second podcast edition of 2009 see's Chris revert back to some of the sounds for which he is best known; straight-up deep house and electro. His Top 5 is made of artists; Pryda, a man called Dr.Kucho, FLG, Patric La Funk, and out on Rising Music we have Alex Fain's 'Aurora Borealis'. The rest of the episode is suitably up-tempo and at times quite dark, finishing off with a true classic from the recently reformed Prodigy. So we missed an edition in December... we're really very sorry, especially Chris Late. To make up for it he's given us his longest podcast to date; packed with a diverse selection of tunes and his first foray into the world of Drum 'n' Bass. Then there's the big one... we at Rising Music don't like brag too much, but 'If You Knew' feat. Nastala has taken the numero uno spot in the Buzz, Cool Cuts and Music Week charts; it entered MTV Dance's Essential New Tracks at #4 with a playlist-add to follow. Last but not least, support has come in strong from the BBC with Tong, the lovely Sarah Cox and Scott Mills all supporting the record. Which indecently Happy days and happy listening!

Podcast 005 swings between techie tinged electro and simple deep grooves - two sounds Chris is well known for, both in and out of the studio. His Top 5 begins with a squelchy number from Mr Oizo, followed by ZZT's 'The Worm'.. if you haven't already, get on YouTube and watch the video, it's like a David Attenborough show in super-speed. Next in comes Crazy P's funked up 'Disc Odyssey' and a Tim Weeks remix of 'Restless', out on Opaque. Sitting at the top of Chris' list is Riva Starr with the appropriately titled 'Squash' - you'll see what we mean.

This month sees Chris take a slightly darker direction in his choices. Starting with his top five, he sets an early groove before moving into the Chris Lake Remixed E.P. This latest release sees Rene Amesz and Adam Shaw give their interpretations of Chris' unreleased track 'Deadline', Rudi Stakker remixing 'Release' and Mastiksoul's tribal reworking of the summer smash 'Only One'. Chris moves into deeper territory with Strimmer's 'The Anger' and a great new release on Subliminal. To wrap things up you'll hear the first track off Trentmoller's 2006 album, which when asked how it could be defined, Chris looked up for inspiration and simply said: "it's a journey".
