What does it look like to live with honor and integrity as a follower of Jesus? Teaching from John 5:19–24, Pastor Chris Teien looks at the relationship between Jesus and the Father and what Christ’s example teaches us about living faithfully.
Jesus did not live independently from the Father. He acted in unity with Him, trusted His authority, and carried out His will. In the same way, Christians are called to imitate Christ, submit their lives to His authority, and develop the kind of integrity that holds steady through the pressures and storms of life.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: HONOR THROUGH IMITATION
Jesus said He did what He saw the Father doing. His life was perfectly aligned with the Father’s will. Christians are also called to imitate Christ and learn from faithful believers who model godly character. Look for examples of love, compassion, truth, service, perseverance, and obedience that you can put into practice in your own life. (John 5:19–20; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 11:1)
2: HONOR THROUGH TRUST AND AUTHORITY
Jesus revealed that the Father had entrusted Him with authority to give life and to judge. Honoring Jesus means more than believing facts about Him. It means trusting Him with your salvation, your future, your finances, your relationships, your service, and the everyday decisions of your life. To honor the Son is to honor the Father who sent Him. (John 5:21–23)
3: HONOR THROUGH BELIEF AND INTEGRITY
Jesus promised that whoever hears His word and believes has eternal life and has crossed from death to life. That salvation becomes the foundation for a life of integrity. Christian integrity means bringing our beliefs, words, choices, and actions into alignment with Scripture. Practices such as Bible study, prayer, confession, worship, fellowship, rest, generosity, service, and disciple-making help strengthen us to live consistently for Christ. (John 5:24; Galatians 2:20)
BE ENCOURAGED
Integrity is built over time through repeated choices to trust and obey Jesus. You will not live perfectly, but you can keep bringing your life into greater alignment with God’s Word. Imitate Christ, submit to His authority, and practice the habits that help you remain strong and faithful when life becomes difficult.

What is the greatest news you could ever share with someone? Teaching from John 4 and the testimony of the Samaritan woman, Pastor Chris Teien encourages believers to get past their fears and tell others about the life-changing hope found in Jesus.
The Samaritan woman simply told people what Jesus had done, and many came to investigate for themselves. Eventually they believed not merely because of her testimony, but because they had encountered Jesus personally. Our responsibility is not to save anyone. We point people toward Christ and trust God to work in their lives.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: JESUS IS GREATER THAN YOUR SINFUL PAST
Your past does not disqualify you from being forgiven or used by God. Jesus is greater than your failures, regrets, and sins. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, and your testimony of His grace can become part of how you help someone else discover Him. (Romans 8:1; 1 John 4:4)
2: JESUS IS GREATER THAN YOUR CURRENT TROUBLES
Financial pressure, family struggles, persecution, uncertainty, and other difficulties can make life feel overwhelming. Jesus never promised a trouble-free life, but He promises to remain faithful through it. Seek His kingdom first, trust Him with your needs, and remember that present trials are temporary compared with the inheritance God has prepared for His people. (Matthew 6:33; 1 Peter 1:3–7)
3: JESUS IS GREATER THAN YOUR FUTURE FEARS
The future can give us plenty of reasons to worry, but followers of Christ do not have to live controlled by fear. The Lord is our helper, Jesus gives a peace the world cannot provide, and prayer allows us to place our anxieties into God’s hands. That same confidence can help us courageously tell someone else about Jesus. (Hebrews 13:6; John 14:27; Philippians 4:6–7)
SHARING THE GREATEST NEWS
Sharing your faith does not require knowing every answer. Help people understand that all of us are sinners, sin separates us from God, we cannot save ourselves, Jesus provided salvation through His death and resurrection, and each person must personally respond to Him in faith.
One practical approach is to open Scripture with someone and let them read the verses themselves. Ask what the passage means to them, talk through their questions, and help them understand what Jesus has done and how they can respond. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; John 3:3; John 14:6; Romans 10:9–11)
BE ENCOURAGED
You do not have to be a professional evangelist to point someone toward Jesus. Care about people, pray for opportunities, be ready to tell your story, and keep the message centered on Christ. Someone may someday be able to say that you were the person who helped point them toward Jesus, where they discovered for themselves that He truly is the Savior of the world.

Can God use your life story to help someone else find Jesus? Teaching from John 4 and the testimony of the Samaritan woman, Pastor Chris Teien explains how the experiences God has brought us through can become bridges for sharing our faith.
The Samaritan woman simply told others what Jesus had done, and people came to see Him for themselves. In the same way, God can use your salvation story, answered prayers, struggles, failures, and experiences of His faithfulness to help someone else look toward the Savior.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: LET YOUR STORY BECOME A BRIDGE TO JESUS
Jesus told His disciples to open their eyes because the fields were ready for harvest. Sometimes God brings someone across our path whose experiences connect naturally with something He has already brought us through. Your story can open a conversation, but the goal is always to point beyond yourself toward Christ. (John 4:34–38)
2: REMEMBER THAT JESUS GAVE YOUR STORY A NEW BEGINNING
The Samaritan woman had a complicated past, but Jesus knew her story and still offered her hope. When Christ saves us, He gives our lives a new direction. Think about what your life was like before Christ, how you came to believe in Him, and how He has been changing you since. (John 4:39; Titus 3:4–7)
3: KNOW THE STORY OF YOUR SALVATION
Part of your testimony is understanding what Jesus has done for you. You recognized that you were a sinner, received eternal life as God’s gift, discovered His love, believed in Jesus, responded to His call, became His child, and can now rest secure in Christ. Salvation is not something we earn through good works. It is received by faith, and a changed life follows because we belong to Jesus. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Romans 5:8; Romans 10:9; Romans 8:1, 38–39)
4: BE READY TO SHARE WHAT GOD HAS DONE
Your story includes more than the moment you were saved. It also includes the ways God has comforted you, provided for you, answered prayer, carried you through hardship, and helped you grow. Share those experiences honestly without exaggerating or glorifying your past. Make a beeline toward Jesus and be ready to explain the hope you have in Him with gentleness and respect. (Psalm 66:16; 2 Corinthians 1:3–4; 1 Peter 3:15)
BE ENCOURAGED
No one else has exactly your story. God can use your experiences, interests, struggles, and relationships to connect you with people who may be ready to hear about Jesus. Pray for opportunities, pay attention to the people God puts in your path, and be willing to tell what He has done for you. Your story is not the gospel, but it can become a bridge that helps someone discover the Savior.

How do you face a new season of life when you do not know exactly what comes next? Teaching from Joshua 1:1–9, Pastor Chris Teien looks at God’s instructions to Joshua as he stepped out of Moses’ shadow and into a new season of leadership.
Whether you are graduating, changing careers, retiring, moving, or entering another major transition, new seasons often bring both opportunity and fear. God’s words to Joshua remind us that we can move forward with courage when we obey His Word and remember His faithfulness.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS
Joshua had served alongside Moses for years, but now he was being called to lead. The responsibility was enormous, and God repeatedly told him to be strong and courageous. Courage does not mean you never feel afraid. It means trusting God enough to move forward even when you do not know exactly how everything will turn out. (Joshua 1:1–7, 9)
2: OBEY GOD’S COMMANDS
God told Joshua to carefully obey His Word, meditate on it day and night, and refuse to turn from it. When you are trying to discover God’s will, start with what He has already revealed in Scripture. Read it, think about it, apply it, and allow God’s truth to guide your priorities, decisions, relationships, and direction. (Joshua 1:7–8; Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16–17)
3: REMEMBER GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
Joshua could move forward because God had already proven Himself faithful. Remembering what God has done in the past can give us courage for whatever comes next. Keep track of answered prayers, remember the ways God has provided and guided you, and let His past faithfulness strengthen your trust for the future. (Joshua 1:5, 9; Hebrews 11:30)
FOR A NEW SEASON OF LIFE
As you move into a new season, put God first, beware of compromises that could damage your future, say yes to worthwhile opportunities, keep learning, remember your goals, pursue a healthy balance, and stay connected to the people who have invested in you.
BE ENCOURAGED
You may not know exactly what your next season will bring, but you do not have to enter it alone. Be strong and courageous. Stay close to God’s Word, obey what He has already shown you, and remember how faithfully He has carried you this far. The God who was with Joshua is still faithful to His people today.

What happens when we make helping people find Jesus a priority? Teaching from John 4:34–38, Pastor Chris Teien looks at Jesus’ picture of a spiritual harvest and the rewards that come from faithfully participating in God’s work.
After talking with the Samaritan woman, Jesus told His disciples to open their eyes because the fields were ready for harvest. Some people plant seeds, others help people take another step toward Christ, and sometimes we have the privilege of seeing someone believe. God calls all of us to faithfully participate while trusting Him to produce the results.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: REWARDED BY EXPERIENCING THE JOY OF WORKING WITH GOD
Jesus said His food was to do the will of the Father and finish His work. Sharing the gospel and helping someone move toward Christ can bring a deep joy that ordinary accomplishments cannot provide. We may plant a seed, answer a question, share our testimony, or have the privilege of helping someone place their faith in Jesus. (John 4:34–38)
2: REWARDED BY FULFILLING OUR PURPOSE
God has created His people to do good works that He prepared for us. Your workplace, neighborhood, hobbies, relationships, and everyday activities can become opportunities to represent Jesus. You do not need impressive words or extraordinary abilities. Show up faithfully, share Christ clearly, and depend on the Holy Spirit to work. (Ephesians 2:10; 1 Corinthians 2:1–5; Luke 10:1–3)
3: REWARDED WITH RESOURCES TO KEEP SERVING
Jesus taught us to seek first God’s kingdom and trust Him with our needs. Scripture also encourages generous believers to recognize that God provides resources so they can continue being generous. This is not a promise that giving will make us wealthy. It is an invitation to put God first, use what He provides faithfully, and trust Him to give us what we need to accomplish His purposes. (Matthew 6:33; 2 Corinthians 9:8–13)
4: REWARDED BY SEEING RESULTS
We scatter the seed, but God makes it grow. Sometimes we may see someone believe in Christ, grow spiritually, or begin telling others about Jesus. Other times we may never see the results ourselves. Our responsibility is faithfulness. God is responsible for the harvest, and even difficult circumstances can become opportunities for the gospel to advance. (Mark 4:26–29; Jude 20–23; Philippians 1:12–14)
BE ENCOURAGED
Open your eyes to the spiritual harvest around you. Pray for opportunities, plant the seed of God’s Word, tell people what Jesus has done for you, and be willing to help someone take another step toward Him. You may sow where someone else eventually reaps, or reap where others have already invested. Either way, there is joy in working with Jesus for a harvest that lasts for eternity.

What does it really mean to worship God in spirit and in truth? Teaching from Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman in John 4, Pastor Chris Teien explains that worship is much bigger than singing songs in a church service.
Jesus said the Father is seeking true worshipers. Genuine worship begins with a real relationship with God through Christ, continues through the work of the Holy Spirit, shapes the way we live, and can even help draw other people toward Jesus.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: WORSHIP IN THE SPIRIT
Jesus said true worshipers worship the Father in the Spirit. Genuine worship begins with being born again and receiving the Holy Spirit through faith in Christ. The Spirit lives within believers, guides us, empowers us, and helps us respond to God from the heart rather than merely going through religious motions. (John 4:23–24; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13–14)
2: WORSHIP IN TRUTH
True worship is genuine, not a performance. God sees our hearts, so worship is not about copying what other people are doing or trying to appear spiritual. Worship in truth means being honest with God, confessing sin, following Jesus as the truth, and allowing Scripture to shape the way we think and live. (John 4:23–24; John 14:6; Romans 12:1–2)
3: WORSHIP WHEREVER YOU ARE
The Samaritan woman wanted to know which location was the correct place to worship, but Jesus pointed toward a new reality. Worship would no longer be limited to one mountain or one temple. Believers can worship God wherever they are because the Holy Spirit lives within them. Gathering with the church remains important, but worship extends far beyond the church building. (John 4:20–24; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20)
4: WORSHIP WITH YOUR ACTIONS
Worship involves what we do with our entire lives. Our time, abilities, bodies, resources, service, generosity, obedience, and everyday choices can all become acts of worship when they are offered to God. True worship means presenting ourselves to Him and allowing our beliefs to shape our actions. (Romans 12:1–2; Hebrews 10:22)
5: LET YOUR WORSHIP ATTRACT OTHERS
The way we live should help other people see something different in us. Our love, good works, faithfulness, and hope can create opportunities to explain why Jesus matters to us. If we truly love God, part of our worship is helping other people discover Him so that they can become worshipers too. (Matthew 5:16; John 13:35; 1 Peter 3:15)
BE ENCOURAGED
The Father is still seeking people who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Do not settle for simply going through the motions. Walk with the Holy Spirit, be honest before God, worship Him wherever you are, offer your whole life to Him, and let the way you live point other people toward Jesus.

What does real freedom look like? Teaching from John 3:16–36, Pastor Chris Teien explains that freedom in Christ is not freedom from Jesus, but freedom found by trusting Him, following Him, and living securely in what He provides.
John 3 contains some of the clearest promises about God’s love, eternal life, and faith in Jesus. This message also looks at John the Baptist’s example of humility and what it means to live in a way that points people toward Christ.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: FREE TO EXPERIENCE PERFECT LOVE
God loved the world enough to give His Son so that whoever believes in Him can have eternal life. Biblical belief is more than acknowledging that Jesus exists. It is personally placing your confidence and trust in Him. Jesus came to save, not merely to condemn, and those who believe in Him are no longer under condemnation. (John 3:16–18)
2: FREE TO BECOME AN EXAMPLE BY LIVING RIGHT
Jesus described the contrast between light and darkness. Those who want to continue in evil avoid the light, while those who live by the truth come into it. Christians are not called to become self-righteous critics of everyone around them, but our lives should increasingly reflect Christ so that others can see the difference He makes. (John 3:19–21)
3: FREE TO RECEIVE WHAT GOD GIVES
When people compared John the Baptist’s ministry with Jesus’ growing ministry, John understood that he did not need to compete. He said that a person can receive only what is given from heaven. We can faithfully receive the calling, opportunities, abilities, and place God gives us without constantly comparing ourselves with someone else. (John 3:22–27)
4: FREE TO ENJOY JESUS’ SUCCESS
John the Baptist was not threatened when more people began following Jesus. He compared himself to the friend of the bridegroom and said, “He must become greater; I must become less.” Christian freedom includes being able to celebrate what Jesus is doing without needing recognition or attention for ourselves. (John 3:28–30)
5: FREE TO KNOW ETERNAL TRUTHS
Jesus came from heaven and speaks with divine authority. Through Him we can know the truth about God, salvation, eternal life, and judgment. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, while whoever rejects Him remains under judgment. That makes the message of Jesus both wonderfully hopeful and eternally important. (John 3:31–36)
BE ENCOURAGED
Freedom in Jesus does not mean living without boundaries or accountability. It means being secure in God’s love, free from condemnation, free from constantly comparing yourself with others, and free to live for something greater than yourself. Trust Jesus personally, let your life point others toward Him, and remember John the Baptist’s words: He must become greater, and we must become less.

How can you know that you are truly saved and secure in Christ? Teaching from Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus in John 3, Pastor Chris Teien explains what it means to be born again and to personally believe in Jesus for eternal life.
Nicodemus was deeply religious and knowledgeable, yet Jesus told him that he still needed new spiritual life. Security in Christ does not come from religious activity, family background, or simply knowing facts about Jesus. It comes through personally trusting the Savior and receiving the new life God gives.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: BELIEVE THAT JESUS SHARED THE TRUTH
Nicodemus came to Jesus recognizing that God was at work through Him, but Jesus immediately confronted the deeper issue of his spiritual condition. Being secure in Christ begins with taking Jesus seriously and believing what He said about God, salvation, and eternal life. (John 3:1–4)
2: BECOME BORN AGAIN
Jesus told Nicodemus that no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of the Spirit. Being born again is more than becoming religious or trying harder to live a good life. It is receiving new spiritual life from God through the work of the Holy Spirit. He convicts, transforms, guides, and empowers those who belong to Christ. (John 3:5–12)
3: BELIEVE ON JESUS FOR ETERNAL LIFE
Jesus pointed Nicodemus back to the bronze serpent in the wilderness. Just as the Israelites looked toward God’s provision and lived, Jesus would be lifted up so that those who believe in Him could receive eternal life. God loved the world enough to give His Son, and whoever believes in Him is not condemned. Salvation rests in Christ and what He has done, not in our ability to earn it. (John 3:13–21)
BE ENCOURAGED
You do not have to spend your Christian life wondering whether you have done enough to earn God’s acceptance. Jesus has already done what was necessary. Believe what He said, trust Him personally, and rest in the promise that whoever believes in Him has eternal life. Then let the Holy Spirit continue changing your life as you grow in Christ.

How does the resurrection of Jesus give us light for this life and hope for eternity? In this Easter message, Pastor Chris Teien looks at several passages from John and 1 Corinthians to show how Jesus reveals the way to God, promises an eternal home, and meets us in our doubts and struggles.
The resurrection is not simply an inspiring part of the Christian story. It is central to the gospel. Jesus died for our sins, was buried, rose again, and offers new life to everyone who places their faith in Him.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: JESUS LIGHTS THE WAY
Jesus said He came into the world as light so that those who believe in Him would not remain in darkness. Through Christ and His Word, we can understand who God is, recognize sin and righteousness, and know how God wants us to live. Instead of being controlled by fear of what other people think, we can walk in the light and openly follow Jesus. (John 12:35–46)
2: JESUS PREPARES A PLACE FOR US
Jesus told His disciples not to let their hearts be troubled because He was going to prepare a place for them. Thomas admitted that he did not understand where Jesus was going, and Jesus answered with one of His clearest statements: “I am the way and the truth and the life.” Our hope for eternity is not based on our goodness or religious effort. It rests in Jesus and His promise that those who belong to Him will be with Him. (John 14:1–6)
3: JESUS KNOWS OUR STRUGGLES AND CARES FOR US
Thomas struggled to believe that Jesus had risen from the dead. Instead of rejecting him for his doubts, Jesus met him and gave him the evidence he needed. Thomas responded, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus understands our questions and struggles, and His resurrection gives us solid reason to believe. (John 20:24–29)
THE GOOD NEWS OF THE RESURRECTION
Paul summarized the heart of the gospel: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and was raised from the dead. His resurrection was witnessed by many people, and Paul explained that if Christ had not been raised, our faith would be useless. But Christ has risen, and everyone who belongs to Him can look forward to resurrection life. (1 Corinthians 15:1–8, 17–22)

Jesus brings light into a dark world, prepares an eternal place for His people, and meets us in our questions and struggles. Because He is alive, death does not have the final word. Trust Him, follow His light, and live this temporary life with the confidence that eternal life with Christ is ahead.

Why do Christians stop on Good Friday to remember the cross? In this message, Pastor Chris Teien reflects on the willing sacrifice of Jesus, the salvation He accomplished, and how His sacrifice should change the way we live.
Jesus did not arrive at the cross by accident. He knew why He had come, willingly carried out the Father’s plan, and gave His life so that sinners could be forgiven and receive eternal life. Good Friday gives us an opportunity to remember what our salvation cost and respond with gratitude, worship, and renewed commitment.
IN THIS MESSAGE
1: JESUS REVEALS HIS PLAN FOR US TO FOLLOW
Jesus knew that His time had come. Like a seed that falls to the ground and dies so that it can produce more life, Jesus was preparing to give His life so that many could receive eternal life. He also called His followers to place Him above their own comfort and priorities and faithfully follow where He leads. (John 12:23–28)
2: JESUS FINISHES THE WORK THE FATHER GAVE HIM
As Jesus prayed before the cross, He spoke about glorifying the Father and completing the work He had been given. Eternal life means knowing the true God and Jesus Christ whom He sent. Jesus also prayed for His disciples and for those who would later believe through their message, including believers today. His saving work continues to bear fruit as the gospel is passed from one generation to another. (John 17:1–6, 13–20)
3: JESUS ENDURES THE CROSS TO COVER OUR SINS
Jesus willingly went to Golgotha and was crucified. Even while suffering, He cared for His mother and fulfilled what Scripture had foretold. When His work was complete, He declared, “It is finished,” bowed His head, and gave up His spirit. His death was real, His mission was completed, and His sacrifice made forgiveness and salvation possible for those who trust Him. (John 19:17–37)
BE ENCOURAGED
Good Friday reminds us not to take salvation for granted. Jesus willingly humbled Himself, endured the cross, and finished the work necessary for our salvation. Remember what He has done for you, thank Him for His grace, and ask how your remaining time, abilities, relationships, and resources can be offered back to Him in grateful worship.
