  • Reaching the Nations Through Mission Aviation | Psalm 67 | Guest Bob Schwartz

What do airplanes and mechanical skills have to do with sharing Jesus? Drawing from Psalm 67, Pastor Chris Teien interviews veteran missionary Bob Schwartz about how mission aviation helps gospel workers reach remote communities and how God uses practical skills to support His mission.

From studying automotive work to training missionary aviation mechanics, Bob’s journey illustrates how everyday experience can prepare someone for unexpected ministry. Discover how pilots, mechanics, churches, and supporters work together, and consider how your own gifts can help others hear the good news of Christ.

    IN THIS MESSAGE

    1. GOD BLESSES HIS PEOPLE TO BLESS THE NATIONS

Psalm 67 connects God’s blessing with the desire for His ways and salvation to be known throughout the earth. The resources, abilities, and opportunities we receive can benefit people far beyond ourselves. Consider how God has equipped you to make Christ known in your community and around the world. (Psalm 67:1–2; Genesis 12:2–3; Titus 2:11)

    2. EVERY CHRISTIAN HAS A PART IN THE GREAT COMMISSION

Reaching remote communities often requires a team whose members serve in different ways. Missionary aviation can turn difficult journeys lasting days into flights lasting hours, helping missionaries reach and serve people more effectively. Bob’s testimony highlights the contributions of mechanics, pilots, churches, and faithful supporters working together to advance the gospel. (Psalm 67:3–5; Matthew 28:18–20; Revelation 7:9)

    3. FAITHFUL OBEDIENCE CREATES ETERNAL IMPACT

God can use skills developed through education, employment, and ordinary responsibilities to prepare us for ministry. Bob’s experience encourages us to remain available, serve faithfully, and recognize opportunities to use what we already know. Through practical service and generous support, believers can participate in work that helps others come to know Christ. (Psalm 67:6–7; John 4:35–38; 2 Corinthians 9:11)

    BE ENCOURAGED

Your practical abilities may meet a ministry need you have never considered. Pray for a missionary and ask how you could support their work through your skills, encouragement, or giving. Remain willing to learn and serve where help is needed. Whether you go or help others go, you can take part in making Jesus known among the nations.

  • Trusting God When You’re Afraid | Psalm 27

What can you hold on to when life feels out of control? Teaching from Psalm 27, Pastor Chris Teien explores how David faced danger and uncertainty by trusting the Lord as his light, salvation, and stronghold. Discover how remembering God’s character, seeking His presence, and waiting with hope can help you respond when fear rises.

David expressed both confidence and urgent need for God’s help. His example reminds us that we can bring our fears honestly to the Lord and keep trusting Him while the outcome remains uncertain.

    IN THIS MESSAGE

    1. HOLD ON TO CONFIDENCE IN GOD’S CHARACTER

David’s courage rested in who God is, even when enemies threatened him. Remembering the Lord’s past faithfulness helped him face present danger with confidence. When fear grows, turn your attention to God’s power, care, and promises rather than letting the threat occupy all your thoughts. (Psalm 27:1–6; Psalm 46:1; 1 Samuel 17:37)

    2. HOLD ON TO WORSHIP AND PRAYER DURING THE BATTLE

David sought God’s presence while trouble surrounded him. He worshiped, asked for help, and prayed for guidance through the challenges he faced. Keep bringing your concerns to the Lord and make room for worship, trusting that you can seek Him before your circumstances improve. (Psalm 27:4–12; Matthew 6:33; Deuteronomy 31:6)

    3. HOLD ON TO HOPE WHILE YOU WAIT

Waiting can test our confidence, especially when relief does not come quickly. David closes the psalm by urging us to be strong, take heart, and wait for the Lord. Continue looking to God for strength and doing what He has made clear while you entrust the timing and outcome to Him. (Psalm 27:13–14; Isaiah 40:31)

    BE ENCOURAGED

Feeling afraid does not prevent you from turning to God in faith. Read Psalm 27 and name your fear honestly before Him. Remember a way He has shown His faithfulness, ask for the help you need, and take a faithful step instead of letting fear make the decision. Keep seeking the Lord as you wait.

  • Finding Freedom Through Forgiveness | Ephesians 4:31–32 & Colossians 3:13 *

How do you move forward when someone’s hurtful actions still weigh on you? Drawing from Ephesians 4:31–32 and Colossians 3:13, Pastor Chris Teien explores how receiving God’s forgiveness and extending forgiveness to others can help you release bitterness and respond with grace.

Forgiveness takes the wrong seriously while refusing to make revenge your goal. Discover why Christ’s sacrifice is the foundation of our forgiveness, how to begin forgiving others, and why forgiveness does not always mean reconciliation or restored trust.

    IN THIS MESSAGE

    1. RECEIVE THE FREEDOM OF GOD’S FORGIVENESS

Jesus bore the cost of our sin through His sacrifice on the cross. Those who trust Him are forgiven and no longer stand condemned before God. Because of His grace, we can bring our failures honestly to Him and approach Him with confidence rather than hiding in guilt. (Ephesians 4:32; Romans 4:8; Hebrews 8:12; Romans 8:1; Hebrews 4:16)

    2. EXTEND FORGIVENESS TO OTHERS

God calls us to forgive others as He has forgiven us in Christ. This means turning from bitterness and personal revenge and choosing to extend mercy, even when the hurt is deep. Forgiveness may involve repeatedly bringing the offense to God as you work through painful memories and learn to respond with grace. (Colossians 3:13; Matthew 18:21–22; Ephesians 4:31–32)

    3. CHOOSE FREEDOM INSTEAD OF BITTERNESS

Holding tightly to an offense can continue shaping our attitudes and relationships long after the original hurt. Forgiveness and reconciliation are related, but rebuilding a relationship also involves truth, accountability, and restored trust. You can release personal revenge while maintaining wise boundaries and recognizing that harmful actions have consequences. (Matthew 6:15; James 2:13; Luke 6:35–36; Galatians 6:7)

    BE ENCOURAGED

You do not have to pretend the hurt was small or that healing is complete. Bring an unresolved offense to God, ask Him to help you release bitterness, and consider a faithful response that reflects His mercy. Where reconciliation is possible, pursue it with wisdom. Where trust remains broken, seek support and maintain appropriate boundaries as you continue following Christ.

  • God’s Grace and Peace: A Chuck Norris Faith Story | Romans 1:7 (Clip)

What gives us peace when strength and success are not enough? In this short clip, Pastor Chris Teien shares a story about Chuck Norris’s Christian faith and reflects on the grace and peace God offers through Jesus Christ in Romans 1:7.

Grace is God’s undeserved favor, received through what Christ has done rather than earned by our achievements. Peace with God comes through Jesus and gives us reason for hope even when life remains difficult. This story illustrates our need for both, regardless of our reputation, accomplishments, or past mistakes.

    BE ENCOURAGED

You do not have to prove yourself strong enough to approach God. Reflect on Romans 1:7, thank Him for His grace, and bring Him a concern that is weighing on you. Consider how His grace and peace have shaped your own story and how you could share that encouragement with someone else.

  • Pray First: Trusting God in Life’s Battles | Psalm 20

When trouble approaches, where do you turn first? Teaching from Psalm 20, Pastor Chris Teien explores a prayer for Israel’s king before battle and explains how it encourages us to seek God’s help, trust His power, and prepare for challenges with faith.

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20 challenges us to consider where our confidence rests. Discover how prayer and dependence on God can shape your response when your plans, resources, and abilities cannot guarantee the outcome.

    IN THIS MESSAGE

    1. CALL ON GOD BEFORE THE BATTLE BEGINS

Psalm 20 opens with prayers for help, protection, and support in a day of trouble. Before rushing to solve a problem, bring it to the Lord and ask for wisdom, strength, and direction. Prayer helps us prepare with dependence on God and reminds us to pray for those carrying responsibility. (Psalm 20:1–5; Proverbs 18:10; Psalm 121:1–2)

    2. HAVE CONFIDENCE THAT GOD GIVES VICTORY

The psalm moves from asking for help to expressing confidence in God’s saving power. We can pray boldly because the Lord hears His people and has the power to accomplish His purposes. Trusting Him also means submitting our desired outcome to His will, even when we cannot see how He will answer. (Psalm 20:6; Luke 4:18; Matthew 6:10)

    3. TRUST THE LORD MORE THAN HUMAN STRENGTH

Chariots and horses represented military strength, but Israel’s ultimate confidence was to rest in the Lord. Our resources, preparation, and abilities have value, yet they cannot provide the security only God gives. Use what He has entrusted to you responsibly while placing your deepest trust in His character and power. (Psalm 20:7–9; Psalm 33:16–17; Psalm 21:1–7)

    BE ENCOURAGED

Let Psalm 20 guide your prayer about a challenge you are facing. Ask God for help, remember someone carrying a difficult responsibility, and examine where your confidence rests. Prepare faithfully and bring your desired outcome under His will. You can seek Him before you know how the battle will end.

  • 10 Ways God Rewards a Life on Mission | John 4:34–38 *

What makes sharing your faith worth the effort, even when you do not see immediate results? Drawing from John 4:34–38 and supporting Scriptures, Pastor Chris Teien explores ten rewards of living on mission for Jesus, from the joy of serving God to the privilege of helping others discover eternal life.

God uses ordinary believers to plant the seed of His Word, encourage one another, and point people toward Christ. Discover why faithful service matters, how to trust God with the harvest, and what it means to invest your life in things that will last forever.

    IN THIS MESSAGE

    1. BE REWARDED BY THE JOY OF WORKING FOR GOD

Jesus described doing His Father’s will as nourishment. Serving God gives us meaningful work and the joy of participating in His purposes. Those who plant and those who harvest can rejoice together in what He accomplishes. (John 4:34–38)

    2. BE REWARDED BY GOD PROVIDING ALL YOU NEED

Jesus calls us to seek God’s kingdom first and trust our Father with our needs. Bring your requests to Him and examine whether your motives reflect His purposes. His provision gives us reason to depend on Him as we serve. (Matthew 6:33; James 4:2–3)

    3. BE REWARDED BY BEING ON A MISSION FROM GOD

Jesus sent His followers into a harvest field that needed workers. You can participate in His mission through the conversations, relationships, and opportunities before you. Serve faithfully while recognizing both the need and the challenges involved. (Luke 10:1–3)

    4. BE REWARDED BY SEEING YOUR PLANTED SEEDS GROW

We can share God’s Word, but we cannot manufacture spiritual growth. Jesus’ illustration of growing seed encourages us to trust God’s work beyond what we can see or control. Keep planting faithfully, even when the results take time. (Mark 4:26–29)

    5. BE REWARDED BY EXPERIENCING THE POWER OF GOD

Paul’s imprisonment became an opportunity for the gospel to advance. Difficult circumstances do not prevent God from working through His people. Depend on Him to use your faithful witness, including in situations you would not have chosen. (Philippians 1:12–14)

    6. BE REWARDED BY BEING ABLE TO ENCOURAGE OTHERS

Your willingness to speak about Jesus can strengthen another believer’s courage. Share what God is teaching you and encourage others to remain faithful. Living on mission helps build up the church as believers learn from one another’s example.

    7. BE REWARDED BY FULFILLING YOUR GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE

We are saved by God’s grace and created in Christ for good works. Your abilities and opportunities can be used to serve the purposes He has prepared for you. Faithful service is a response to salvation, never a way to earn it. (Ephesians 2:10)

    8. BE REWARDED BY EXPERIENCING OUR LORD TOGETHER

Revelation pictures people from every nation worshiping before God’s throne. Sharing Christ invites others to receive the salvation that brings us into this eternal fellowship. That future gives us a reason to care about people beyond our own familiar circles. (Revelation 7:9)

    9. BE REWARDED BY HELPING RESCUE OTHERS

Jude calls believers to show mercy and help people facing spiritual danger. Pointing someone toward Jesus is an act of love with eternal significance. Approach people with compassion, humility, and care as you share the hope of salvation. (Jude 20–23)

    10. BE REWARDED BY GOD GIVING YOU MORE TO STEWARD

God supplies resources so His people can give generously and meet real needs. His provision creates opportunities for further service and thanksgiving to Him. Use what He entrusts to you faithfully, recognizing that generosity serves His purposes rather than guaranteeing personal wealth. (2 Corinthians 9:6–15)

    BE ENCOURAGED

Think of someone who needs to hear the good news of Jesus. Pray for them, make time for a conversation, and look for a thoughtful way to serve. Keep planting the seed of God’s Word and encouraging fellow believers, even when you cannot see immediate results. Trust God with the harvest as you invest in what lasts.

  • Hearing God’s Voice in a Noisy World | Psalm 19

With so many voices offering advice, how do you recognize what God has truly revealed? Teaching from Psalm 19, Pastor Chris Teien explains how creation points us toward its Creator and how Scripture gives us trustworthy truth for everyday life.

Discover how becoming familiar with God’s Word helps you evaluate spiritual claims, examine your own heart, and respond with obedience. Psalm 19 moves from wonder at God’s greatness to a personal prayer that our words and thoughts would please Him.

    IN THIS MESSAGE

    1. PERCEIVE GOD’S VOICE THROUGH CREATION

The heavens declare God’s glory without speaking audible words. Their beauty, order, and vastness reveal the greatness of the One who made them. Take time to notice creation and let that awareness lead you to worship its Creator. (Psalm 19:1–6; Romans 1:20; Isaiah 40:26)

    2. PREPARE YOUR LIFE TO BE TRANSFORMED BY GOD’S WORD

David describes God’s instruction as trustworthy, life-giving, and more desirable than gold. Scripture gives wisdom, brings joy, and warns us about choices that lead away from God. Read, study, and apply His Word so that biblical truth shapes your decisions and helps you evaluate the messages competing for your attention. (Psalm 19:7–11; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; John 17:17)

    3. PURSUE OBEDIENCE TO WHAT GOD HAS REVEALED

David responds by asking God to reveal hidden faults and protect him from deliberate sin. Understanding Scripture should lead us to confession, humility, and changes in how we live. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand and obey God’s Word, bringing your speech and private thoughts before the Lord. (Psalm 19:12–14; John 14:26; Psalm 95:7–8; John 10:27)

    BE ENCOURAGED

Read Psalm 19 and ask God to show you an attitude, habit, or conversation that needs attention. Test the guidance you receive against Scripture and take a practical step of obedience. Make David’s prayer your own: may your words and the meditation of your heart be pleasing to the Lord. Keep growing familiar with His Word as you seek His direction.

  • How to Encourage Others and Strengthen Their Faith | 1 Thessalonians 5:11 & Hebrews 3:13 *

Who has helped you keep going when your faith felt weak? Drawing from 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Hebrews 3:13, and supporting Scriptures, Pastor Chris Teien explores how God uses our words, presence, prayers, and relationships to strengthen others and help them remain faithful to Jesus.

Encouragement involves more than saying something positive. It includes sharing the hope of Christ, making time for people, extending grace after failure, and lovingly helping one another resist sin. Discover five ways to offer encouragement that builds faith and reflects Christ’s love.

    IN THIS MESSAGE

    1. ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER BY GROWING IN FAITH TOGETHER

The promise of Jesus’ return gives believers hope beyond their present struggles. As we worship, study Scripture, and help one another follow Christ, we remind each other of what God has promised. Share that hope with someone who needs strength to persevere. (1 Thessalonians 4:16–18; 5:1–11)

    2. ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER THROUGH GODLY RELATIONSHIPS

Paul experienced God’s comfort through the arrival of Titus during a difficult season. Faithful friends and mentors can help us recognize God’s care when we feel discouraged or overwhelmed. Receive the support of other believers and consider how your own friendship could strengthen someone else. (2 Corinthians 7:5–7; John 14:16, 26)

    3. ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER BY SPENDING TIME TOGETHER

Onesiphorus refreshed Paul through his willingness to seek him out and stand beside him. A visit, shared meal, or time spent listening can communicate care that words alone cannot. Make room in your schedule to be present with people who need encouragement. (2 Timothy 1:15–18)

    4. ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER THROUGH GRACE INSTEAD OF JUDGMENT

Harsh criticism can deepen discouragement and damage Christian fellowship. Jesus calls us to examine our own hearts before addressing someone else’s faults. Speak honestly with humility, extend grace, and help people move forward rather than continually defining them by past failures. (Matthew 7:1–5; Galatians 5:15–16)

    5. ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER THROUGH LOVING ACCOUNTABILITY

Encouragement also means helping each other recognize sin and remain responsive to God. Hebrews urges believers to encourage one another daily so that sin’s deceitfulness does not harden their hearts. Pray together, welcome biblical correction, and speak truth with love as you grow in faith. (Hebrews 3:13; Psalm 139:23–24; 2 Timothy 3:16–17)

    BE ENCOURAGED

Contact someone who may be discouraged and make time to listen. Share a specific reason for hope, offer practical help, or pray together. Your presence can help them take another faithful step. Be willing to receive encouragement too, allowing others to walk alongside you as you follow Christ.
