At the Passover meal Jesus decided to do something extraordinary. He washed His disciples feet. This was typically the job of the lowest of low servants. But Jesus wanted to wash away any doubt in their minds of His love for them. He washed their feet right before He washed away our sins on the cross!

Luke 22:27

"Who is more important: the one sitting at the table or the one serving him? You think the one at the table is more important. But I am like a servant among you!"

Jesus tells us that others will know that we are his followers by our love for one another. We should love non believers, of course. But we should especially love our brothers and sisters in Christ!

"All people will know that you are my disciples if you love one another."

Think about Jesus' hands nailed to the cross, and God's hands that put Him there because he loves us so much!
