The lives of the Christians to whom he was writing (at least some of them) were not characterized by peace or Heavenly wisdom, but apparently were instead more like those described in James 3:14.

Here we see "the effect of faith on character," or at least the effect our faith ought to have.

A Christian shows his wisdom and intelligence through his humble living. This wisdom, from God, is pure, peaceable, willing to yield, full of compassion, good deeds, free from doubts and insincerity.

James issues a sober warning about the power and danger of the tongue, emphasizing that speech reveals the heart and profoundly affects one’s spiritual integrity.

Friendships are very important to all people. Life is more fun when we have close friendsto share it with. They play an important role in our lives.

In a world of moral decay, you need to ask yourself:

"Who is my Friend?"

Philip and I continue our study in James as we discuss the importance of being a doer, not just a hearer in the Kingdom of God.

The problem of prejudice and being a respecterof persons rears its head with every generation.

We finish up chapter 1 with our discussion regarding being doers of the Word and not hearers only...

Our study of James continues.
