James begins his final chapter with some challenging actions steps that come from our identity as God’s kids. Join us as we study the “what” and “how” of Generosity, Patience and Integrity. And remind ourselves of the relationship at the foundation for all our behavior.

There are two paths that we can take at any given moment of our lives. The 'Hollow Path' or the 'Full Path'. One of utter ruin and the other of eternal rewards. But which path are we walking on? How can we know? Today, Zach walks us through James 4:13-17 and further explains what these two paths are in helping us identify which one we might be walking on.

Sometimes the words we say can cause the most irreparable damage to others, even if it's unintentional. In James chapter 3 we see a warning and caution of how the tongue and it's inability to be tamed can be dangerous. That one of the smallest and seemingly harmless parts of ourselves can actually bring destruction through the words we say. But what else does the Bible say about the tongue and what do we do about it? That's what Robert unpacks for us as we look at this subject in the book of James and see how the Gospel of Jesus Christ changes all of it. 

James says faith without works is dead, which seems pretty harsh at first.
But in James 2:14-26, James makes it clear that faith and works are inseparable. You cannot have one without the other, and neither is authentic on its own. Works flow from our faith, and our faith fuels our work. Tune in as Nathan unpacks this reality and why it matter for us as followers of Jesus.

Partiality is a topic that most likely not a lot of us talk about in our everyday conversations either because we simply don’t know what it is or we don’t see what can from it. The unfortunate reality of having an attitude of personal favoritism dismantles the deep unity that God desires for us, at the expense of someone’s own shallow benefit.

This Sunday we’re getting into the first thirteen verses of chapter two in James and looking at what God’s word says about partiality, why it’s a problem, and what we’re supposed to do about it.

The Bible tells us that we should not only be "hearers" of God's word, but "doers" of his word. That it's simply not enough for someone to hear a message or listen to a truth articulated, but to be changed by it and charged to do it. But what do our lives start to look like when we find ourselves to be more like "hearers" than "doers"? What beliefs or notions move us into being more of a "hearer" and less of a "doer"? Today Ben walks through James 1:19-27 and helps us better understand how the Gospel informs this concept as well as gives us handles on how to apply this to our everyday lives. 

“How do I resist the temptation in my life?”
Generally, when faced with trials, we are often tempted to take the easy and painless way out instead of making the hard right decision. So how do we resist that urge? Where does temptation come from? Where does it lead?
These are the questions Asher helps us answer in James 1:12-18.
