I. God’s Sovereignty
Isaiah 46:9-10 9 Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God and there is none like Me
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure,’
Psalm 135:6 Whatever the Lord pleases He does, In heaven and in earth.
2. Prayer
John 14:13-14
13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
BUT:
Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
SO: God answers prayer four ways-
yes, no, wait, better
Matthew 26:39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
