As we continue our Blindspots series, and look at the life of Jacob we focus on his brother Esau. Listen as Mike Woodruff dives into Genesis 25:29-34 and how the dynamic between two brothers changes drastically as a result of a short-sighted decision.

We all have a history, we all have “issues”...you might even say, we all have some “wounds.” We are slowed down in certain ways by our past, consequently some of us carry around a lot of baggage. Listen as Mike looks at the life of someone who has a lot of baggage – in particular from his family...and consequently a lot of Blindspots. His name is Jacob.

Three thousand years ago, Socrates said that the path to truth starts as we learn to "Know thyself." 500 years ago, noted theologian John Calvin wrote, “Wisdom, consists almost entirely of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves.”  Many others have said similar things. Our mission is to help people Discover life with God. That requires a better understanding of ourselves than most of us have.
Most of us want to get better. Part of getting better is seeing ourselves accurately. Today we kickoff of a new series called Blindspots, which comes our way mostly from the life of Jacob. Mike Woodruff will start things off by looking at the challenge of understanding who we are.

As we ramp up for our Fall season , there is no better passage than Philippians 3:7-14 to prepare us for the upcoming season. Listen as Ben Dockery describes how Paul’s focus in this passage is on forward momentum, not prior mistakes. A person cannot move ahead if their thoughts and vision are focused on the past. Paul has a clear goal: bring in heaven with the Lord, he looks forward to the ultimate reward for his faithful service.
