In this teaching, we review the story of Jeremiah 41-43, where those left behind by the conquering armies of Babylon, decide to return to Egypt. Jeremiah strongly warned against this. Sometimes the things we run from are the very things we run to. When we panic, we sometimes return to familiar and safe places. Returning to Egypt represented spiritual compromise. Jeremiah told they would be safe staying in Judah. The word Judah means praise.
Psalm 100 represents a believer praising the LORD out of a pure heart without being motivated by legal obligation. 1 Peter 1:3-9 is similar to Psalm 100. A Christian finds God as the safe place through Jesus. We love Him even though we don't see Him. We believe in Him even though He isn't with us yet.
I hope you find grace and hope in this teaching.
Much love and grace,
Pastor Chris
