Christ Church of Mt Airy Sermons

Matt Maka presents two pastors-in-training, Tyler Golden and Jordan Thomas, to the church, and explains the role of a pastor and how the congregation should evaluate their pastors. He also presents a vision for intentional encouragement of one another.

On Christ Church's 5-year anniversary, Matt Maka recounts God’s faithfulness to us over the last five years, and renews our commitment to glorify God by building a community of Spirit-filled disciples living on gospel mission.

Robin Boisvert examines Luke 2:21-35, showing us that Jesus came to us both fully divine and fully human; knowing Him allows us to live, and die, in peace.

In our Christmas celebration, Matt Maka examines Hebrews 4:14-5:10 to show us that by coming to earth as a human being, Jesus is able to sympathize with us, show mercy to us, and be our source of eternal salvation.

Matt Maka preaches on Hebrews 1:1-4 to show us that a manger without an empty tomb would leave us hopeless, but Jesus--who is God incarnate--came to Earth as a baby to make purification for sins as our High Priest and then was exalted as the King above all things.

Matt Maka continues our series in the book of Joshua by looking at Joshua 7, where he shows us that those who break covenant with God are dedicated to destruction, and their sin has a devastating impact on their whole community

Jordan Thomas continues our series on the book of Joshua by looking at Joshua 6, where he shows us how God pours out his righteous wrath on the people of Jericho, but gives his grace to save Rahab.

Matt Maka continues our series in Joshua by looking at Joshua 5, showing us that God's renewed covenant with the people of Israel--a foreshadowing of the new covenant--rolled away the reproach on their name, reminded them that they had been rescued from slavery in order to feast and find rest with Him, and declared Jesus their Commander.

Matt Maka continues our series in the book of Joshua by looking at Joshua 3-4, where he shows us that God calls his people to remember and proclaim how he manifests his presence with his people in order to deliver them into his promised rest.
