This is Part 1 of our new four-part series, Open Doors. Today we meet a man named Cornelius — a Roman centurion, a Gentile, a God-fearer who never preached a sermon, never wrote a book, and never performed a miracle. And yet God used him to open the door of the gospel to the entire Gentile world.

Cornelius thought he was inviting Peter to his house. Peter thought he was visiting one man. The church discovered it was about the nations.

That is what God does through one ordinary person who becomes His door.

Behind one neighbor is a street. Who is waiting in your network?

• Will I OPEN? — Cornelius didn't keep God's activity private. He opened his life, his home, and his relationships so that God could do what only God can do. The question isn't whether an opportunity will come — it's whether you'll open when it does.

• What Could God DO? — While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit fell on every Gentile in the room. The word "everyone" echoed through a household that had never heard it directed at them before. What could God do through your one open life?

God changes the world through ordinary people who become His doors.

Who gets your first call in a crisis? Whose voice shapes your decisions the most? This is the series finale of Hearing the Voice of God. When the people of Judah sought the Lord, He spoke through an ordinary Levite named Jahaziel — because God's authority rests in His Word, not in the status of the messenger. God's voice is more reliable than what you can see.

• Will I OBEY God's Direction? — Jehoshaphat sent singers to the front of the army — before the battle began. From a military standpoint, this made no sense. But it was a public declaration that God's promise was more certain than their circumstances. As they began to sing and praise, God set ambushes against the enemy. Victory followed obedience, not military competence.

As followers of Christ, we're called to move the fences we've built, extend grace beyond familiar boundaries, and become people who help reconcile others to God and to one another.

Every one of us is making decisions right now that will shape the rest of our lives. The question isn't whether you'll seek counsel — the question is where you'll find it.

This is Part 2 of our three-part series, Hearing the Voice of God. Today's message — "Seeking God's Counsel" — takes us to one of the most instructive moments in the life of King David. He had finally been anointed king over all Israel. He had military experience, influence, and every advisor in the ancient world at his disposal.
