In modern-day Christianity we could argue that the church - in a general statement, is not healthy. This is ultimately down to poor leadership. Good healthy leadership in the church leads to good and healthy worship, and ultimately good and healthy Christians who live on mission.

Since God’s redemption in Christ extends to all kinds of people, the breadth of our prayers should reflect the breadth of God’s saving grace. So, will the breadth of God’s grace to us shape us to pray for those we deem ‘undeserving’—those whose interests, values, politics, character, or treatment of us make them difficult to love—or not?

Jesus, by healing the leper, reveals His authority as the King to cleanse the unclean. And this miraculous cleansing points to His greater work of cleansing sinners from sin. All who come to Him in humble faith will be made clean. Have you received the King's cleansing? Have you come to Him as the leper did?

Jesus concludes the Sermon on the Mount by teaching that those who hear His words and obey build their lives on the sure foundation of Christ, while those who hear without obeying build on a foundation that will ultimately collapse. The question is: On which foundation am I building?
