Sermon Text: Genesis 9:18-28 As the flood narrative ends, we might expect that Noah and his family will get off the boat and live righteous and obedient lives. Yet what we see next is more shameful sin. But we get a glimpse of the Gospel and how grace covers our shame while sin seeks to expose our shame.

Sermon Text: Genesis 6:9-14, 6:18-7:1-5, 7:22-24 Title: The Faith of Noah Judgement comes for creation. After we heard that the state of humanity was completely evil, we see God de-create everything He created. In the first part of the flood narrative, we typically think of this as mainly God's judgement. However, the author actually wants us to focus on what salvation means and how someone can receive it.

Sermon Text: Genesis 8:1, 20-9:17 Title: God remembered While the authors of the Bible are telling true stories, they also are shaping them to teach the readers. The structure of the flood narrative points to the main point of the whole narrative, that God remembered and will continue to remember. After the flood ends and Noah and his family leave the ark, God continues to promise His remembrance by making a covenant, or an agreement, with Noah and all of humanity.

Sermon Text: Genesis 6:1-8 In the final verses before the flood narrative, we see human depravity reach its high point. This leads to God grieving over the creation He loves. This week we look at what it means that God grieves and regrets, the justice of God, and His grace which gives us hope.

Sermon Text: Genesis 4:1-16 After Adam and Eve were exiled from paradise, they are given the gift of 2 sons. In this narrative, we see clearly the difference between a heart that joyfully sacrifices their best and the insecurity of a heart that does not. This difference is played out in the first murder. And yet, even here in the midst of God's justice we see God's grace.

Sermon Text: Genesis 4:17-26 After the fall and Cain's murder of Abel, humanity starts to spiral further and further from God, yet they also are innovating, revealing how the image of God and the God ordained task of creating is still possible thanks to common grace. In this passage we see how humanity thrives and despairs at the same time, with a thread of hope as Adam and Eve have another son and people calling on the Lord.

Sermon Text: Genesis 3:14-24 After Adam and Eve disobeyed and rejected God's offer of grace through repentance, judgment has come. The judgment and curse continually remind humanity of how things are supposed to be, look towards the Messiah, and hope for the day when all things are set back to right.

Sermon Text: Genesis 3:8-13 Adam and Eve have disobeyed and are now hiding. But God is gracious, giving them ample opportunity to confess. Instead of owning up to their mistakes, they make excuses, blaming everybody but themselves.

Sermon Text: Genesis 2:4-10,15-25 Genesis 2 gives us a glimpse into paradise before the fall. We see the special care God took in creating mankind and instituting 2 important functions: work and marriage.
