1 Cor. 6:16-20 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, "The two will become one flesh." 17 But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. 18 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

2 Cor. 6:14-16 14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness?

Separation (vv. 11-12)

Ro.9:4-5 to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law (Torah) the worship, and the promises. 5 To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ.

Reconciliation (vv. 13-16; Jon.4:2-3,11a-b)

Col. 2:13-14 13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

Ephesians 2:8-10

How (v.8)

Gal. 2:16 .. we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

Ma. 1:14b-15 … Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

In Ro. 109b-10 .. if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Why (vv.9-10)

1 Cor. 1:28a, 29, 31 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, ....... 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God..... 31 so that, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."

Jo. 15:16a-b You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide. (Ja. 2:14-17)

Ephesians 2:4-7

The Motive (vv. 4-5a 7)

1 Cor. 2:14 makes that really clear by saying the natural person does not accept the things of God because he or she is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Jo. 4:10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

The Method (vv .5b-6)

Col. 2:12, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.

1 Cor. 15:52-53 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
