“Persecution Persists”
Acts 5:17-26
Arrested (vv.17-18)
Mt. 24:9-14 9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then many will fall away[a] and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
2 Thess. 2:3b-4 …. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessnessis revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.
Freed (vv. 19-24)
Preached (vv. 25-26)
Mt. 10:17-20 17 Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues, 18 and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. 19 When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. 20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

“Growth in Signs and Wonders”
Acts 5:12-16
The Kingdom Divides (vv.12-13)
1 Cor. 12:9-10,28 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues… 28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. .
The Kingdom Redeems (vv. 14-17)
Ro. 10:13-15,17 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”.. 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Mathew 9 14-15
Chrisitan Ethics
Pt. 3 “True Tolerance”
Romans 15:1-2
Patience (v.1)
Pleasing (v.2)
1 Cor. 10:24 Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. 14:3 the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.
Phil. 2:3-4 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Same idea.
1 Jo. 4:11,20-21 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. .. 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot[a] love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
1 Cor. 9:22; 10:33 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some… 10:33 just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.
1 Cor.10:27-32 27 If one of the unbelievers invites you to dinner and you are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience. 28 But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, for the sake of the one who informed you, and for the sake of conscience— 29 I do not mean your conscience, but his. For why should my liberty be determined by someone else's conscience? 30 If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of that for which I give thanks?
31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 32 Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God,
1 Thess. 5:14 And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.

Gospel Glory (vv. 6-8)
2 Cor. 5:15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
Matthew 6:22-24
22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.[a]
True Faith- “How Do I Know I’m Saved?”
Pt. 4 “Fortitude”
Colossians 1:21-23
God’s Preservation (vv.21-22)
Phil. 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ
Ro. 8:31,33,39 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be[i] against us?.. 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies…. 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Our Perseverance (vv. 22b -23)
Jo. 6:66-69 66 After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. 67 So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, 69 and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”
Job 1:20-22 20 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” 22 In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.
1 Cor. 15:1-2 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain
Ro. 8:35-39 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,
“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Confession (v.9)
Mt. 16:15-17 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
Jo. 6:67-69 67 So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, 69 and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”
Heb. 11:1,6 1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. … 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Mt. 13:44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Confidence (v.10)
Jo. 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
1 Jo. 4:15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
Gal. 2:16 yet we know that a person is not justified[b] by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
Mt. 10:32-33 32 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heave
