This week, we continue our series on prayer by looking at Daniel’s model prayer in the Old Testament in order to answer the question: How do we know what to pray for? And don’t forget to work on our memory verse : 1 John 5: 14-15.

Here is the point: This week we begin a new series on Prayer, and as soon as that Bear became a Christian, he knew he needed to pray. He needed to thank God for the meal he was about to receive. And just like that Bear, those of us who are Christians,....we know we need to pray!

Hope you are enjoying our series “Jesus at the Center,” where we are learning what commitments we need to make as individuals and a congregation in order to keep Jesus central to everything we believe, say and do. Over the past for weeks, we have made commitments to:

1. Recognize Jesus as the Savior,

2. Not just worship, but follow Him. And

3. To interpret the Bible in light of Jesus’ teachings and example.

4. To the Kingdom of Jesus over and above our commitment to any kingdom and nation in this world.

This week is the second Sunday of Advent and we will celebrate the joy the gospel of Jesus brings to the world. We learn that there is more depth in Christ’s gospel than most Christians give credit. And when we fully understand His Good News, we can’t help to proclaim it from the mountain tops—it brings so much joy!
