Exodus 35–39 gives a summary of the work done by the people that God had commanded over the last several chapters, which shows us some themes that characterize God's people and hopefully us, and chapter 40 closes by telling us why the people have responded in obedience.

Exodus 33:7–34:35 is a continuation of the devastating situation described last week in the famous golden calf incident. Here we see Moses again intercede for the people as he receives promises from God to go with the people again, but we also hear God's amazing character described in mercy and compassion.

Exodus 32:1–33:6 is a famous passage regarding the golden calf. After so much preparation and commitment, the people succumb to temptation in idol worship. There seems to be a collapse in the covenant on the part of the people. Even though there are consequences, we should be grateful to see a covenant keeping God in this text and in our lives!

In Exodus 30–31, we continue to see God set apart normal things, normal people, and a normal day for his holy purposes.

Exodus 29 looks at the consecration of priests and reminds us not only of our great high priest in Christ, but the call of those in ministry to equip everyone for the work of ministry. All of our ministry is possibly because God loved us so much to send his Son to be the perfect sacrifice for us who now indeed dwells with us by His Spirit!

Exodus 25 gives us a look at the beginning stages of instructions regarding the building of the tabernacle. The ark, table for bread, and lampstand are discussed. The ark is a significant item in the Old Testament and not only symbolizing God's presence but the idea of atonement.

Exodus 24 shows us the ratifying of the covenant between God and his people as they are commissioned to go and obey all the commands of the last few chapters. We see many themes that we often find in our own worship services, like sprinkling, being in God's presence, and eating with God and each other. Our own worship services should be seen as covenant renewal services.
