In this sermon we begin to discuss the marks of saving faith. Saving Faith terminates upon Jesus Christ alone, Christ as revealed in Scripture- Mediator between God and Man- Prophet, Priest, - King- a dying savior, a sacrificed savior, a resurrected savior, and an interceding savior. Saving Faith is a self-denying, not self-actualizing, faith, as the Object of our faith brooks no competitors, and it is He alone worthy of our worship. Saving Faith is a humble, sin-confessing, sin-forsaking, and a sin-mortifying faith- a repenting faith. Saving Faith is one that demonstrates itself in good works -not for merit- but by love as an expression of its existence. Saving Faith is related to the previous- An obedient and affectionately working faith, loving God's commandments, which are not grievous to the believer, who also loves the people of God. Saving Faith is a worshiping faith, according to God's commandments -alone-.
