Through this text, we explore Peter's tragic threefold denial of Christ. By this point in the narrative, Peter was a man consumed by his own pride. Christ had warned him that he would betray Him, but Peter was so certain of his own loyalty, he would not listen. He followed behind Christ into the courtyard of the high priest where he fulfilled Christ's prophecy in horrifically grand fashion. Yet through his failure, we are blessed to know that Christ's grace extends to the uttermost.
