Matthew simply says “When they had crucified Him. . .” Why would Matthew merely mention the crucifixion in passing? This was the event where the perfect and holy Jesus took the ugliness of sin upon Himself. This session explores the horribleness of the death on a cross and explains why it is such an ugly event to look at. The physical pain is tremendous but so is the spiritual pain of The Holy One taking all of the ugly sin of all people upon Himself. Jesus’ death on a cross is the hinge point of human history.

• What did Jesus mean when He says “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
• What did Jesus go through for us?
