Jesus Christ, the Son of David and the Son of Abraham, has come to save sinners – including those in His family tree. 1. From Abraham to David – He comes to save Gentile sinners. (vv. 1-6) 2. From David to the exile – He comes to save Jewish sinners. (vv. 7-11) 3. From the exile to the birth of Christ – He comes to bring eternal restoration. (vv. 12-17)

We delight in God's righteous Law – in the pierced hand of Christ our Righteousness. 1. In Christ, we see and praise the Law's absolute perfection. (vv. 7-9) 2. In Christ, we delight in the value, sweetness, and reward of the Law. (vv. 10-11) 3. In Christ, we live by humble faith and repentance under His Law. (vv. 12-14)

Introduction The Triune God proclaims His glory through His creation: 1. The heavens declare the glory of God. (v. 1) a. This proclamation is joyful to the justified, but dreadful to unbelievers (Rom. 1:18-21) 2. This is a never-ending and universal sermon. (vv. 2-4b) a. Likewise, the Gospel is to be preached always and universally. (Rom. 10:18) 3. The sun spreads its light and warmth everywhere in the world. (vv. 4c-6) a. Christ is the light of the world and will be the light of the New Jerusalem. (John 8:12; Rev. 21:22-23)

Yahweh saves His Anointed King and makes Him Head of all nations. 1. Yahweh gives Him reward for His righteousness. (vv. 20-27) a.And He imputes His righteousness to us. 2.Yahweh gives Him strength for battle. (vv. 28-42) a.And He strengthens us for our spiritual warfare. 3.Yahweh gives Him victory over all nations. (vv. 43-50) a.And He commissions us to declare His victory.

God's King recounts with praise the LORD who rescued Him from death – and us in Him. 1. His confidence in the LORD's rescue. (vv. 1-3) 2. His cry for the LORD's rescue. (vv. 4-6) 3. His experience of the LORD's rescue. (vv. 7-19)

Jesus reveals His zeal for His Father's house – and brings a new and more glorious temple. 1. Jesus cleanses worldliness from His Father's house. (vv. 13-17) 2. Jesus brings a new temple – in His incarnate, crucified, and risen body. (vv. 18-22) 3. Jesus does not entrust Himself to those who claim to believe in Him. (vv. 23- 25)

God's righteous and persecuted servant cries out for vindication and rescue, by: 1. Pleading Christ's righteous heart. (vv. 1-5) 2. Pleading Christ's righteous rescue. (vv. 6-12) 3. Pleading Christ's righteous judgment. (vv. 13-15)

Christ's confidence was in the God who raises the dead – and ours is in Him. 1. Confidence in the one true God who preserves. (vv. 1-4) 2. Confidence in the one true God who generously gives and graciously guides. (vv. 5-8) 3. Confidence in the one true God who resurrects His Godly One. (vv. 9-11)

The Lord reveals who may dwell in His presence (v. 1): 1. We must be blameless inwardly and outwardly. (vv. 2-5) a. In our speech and actions. (vv. 2-3) b. In our relations with the ungodly and the godly. (v. 4a) c. In our promises. (v. 4b) d. In our financial integrity. (v. 5a-b) 2. If we are righteous in these ways, we will be forever secure in God's presence. (v. 5c) 3. Christ alone perfectly fulfills these qualifications for us – and works these qualities in us.
