The 10th and final plague that God brought against the Egyptians for holding the Israelites in slavery for 400 years was the most severe and grievous-the death of the firstborn sons in all of Egypt. But God made gracious provision for the Israelites and instructed them to mark the doorframes of their homes with the blood of a lamb in order to be protected from this plague of death.
