The Bible plants a new ethic for the people of God: human dignity, justice, equality, and accountability to Christ. These ultimately disarm and destroy slavery. Colossians 4:1 calls those in authority to lead like Christ by treating those under them justly and fairly. When these principles are lived out, slavery becomes morally unrecognizable and is undone as hearts, relationships, and societies are transformed by Christ.
