True faith is not using God to secure a comfortable life (temporal flourishing), but rather a trust in Jesus that leads to worship and persistent prayer, even amidst injustice and delay.

Because Jesus has devoted himself to us, a true disciple’s heart is freed from living for self and money to live in whole-hearted devotion to God—seeking the lost, forgiving others, and caring for the poor.

Jesus reveals the heart of the Father by seeking and saving the lost through His own rejection, so that sinners are not merely forgiven but restored to the household of God as sons rather than slaves.

Jesus bore his cross and rose again so that, united to him, we are made true disciples.

The great feast of God belongs to those who know their need and trust the Master to exalt them through Christ’s life, death, and resurrection.

Jesus is the Door to the house of God for those who are united to Him.

The Son lives by beholding the Father’s will, and through union with Him, by His Spirit, we learn to see before we act and to live from the life He gives.

God’s love for a rebellious and already condemned world is most clearly displayed in His willingness to send His one and only Son—the eternal Word—to bear our condemnation on the cross, so that we might become children of God.

We can live and worship in joy even in lowliness dishonor because Jesus us into his honor.

The Prince of Peace bore our anguish and gloom so we might have peace.
