Rev. Will Barnett walks us through Exodus 13:17-22

In today’s text, we will see: God sovereignly advances His kingdom by using the proclamation of the gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit to transform lives from different backgrounds and experiences into one unified Church.

The Church is commanded to action through wise biblical planning, but God has the right to establish the way.

We will see the Risen Christ preserve and strengthen His Church in three points of potential conflict. 

* where contention threatens unity

* Christian liberty stands in the way of mission

* ecclesiastical authority of the Church is being exercised 

Displaying a Church willing to endure conflict, lay down her rights for the sake of God’s mission, and walk in submission to the truths of His Word rightly handled by called men. 

The defining moment of the question of "how is sinful man reconciled to his Holy God" is presented to the church courts. Will they hold firm to " by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone? Or will they add Old Covenant religious ritual for the Gentiles? If ever there was a debate worth having, this is it.

Acts 14:1–28: The Supremacy of Christ Over the Idols of Man, and theAuthority and Preservation of His Church

The preservation of the believer is rooted in the preservation of Christ. He equips the church to endure structural, physical, and emotional suffering, using it to refine rather than destroy our faith. And we will look at three points in this chapter.

1.      The Authority of the Church: 1-7

2.     The Supremacy of Christ: 8-18

3.     The Obedience and Preservation of theChurch: 19-28

This text serves as a historical account of the early church and shows us a robust theology of preaching (homiletics) and the church (ecclesiology). Demonstrating that from beginning to end the mission of the Church is a divine work that God graciously allows me and you to partake in. So today there will be three points,

3. The Consequence of Missions (v.422-52)
