In this prayer Jesus teaches us to have a daily dependence on our Heavenly Father for all things. Our prayer lives are a barometer of how much dependent faith we actually have.

The human heart is hardwired to work for God's approval. When we depend on our performance or obedience for our standing with God, we miss the joy that God intends us to experience.-Outline--I. The church in Philippi is unable to fulfill its mission of giving life to their city. The primary reason is their lack of unity which is rooted in their disappointment and unmet expectations.
