The Scripture readings for tonight’s service are Isaiah 9:2-7; 1 John 2:7-14; and Matthew 4:12-17.

It doesn’t matter how great, mighty, and powerful this world appears. It is nothing compared to the dominion of justice and righteousness that Christ brings to you.

Even as the powers of the heavens are shaken, we pray that God would stir up our hearts to be ready for Jesus’ coming. The cares of this life are certainly real, but they are nothing compared to the redemption that is coming and drawing near.

Because God has already given you what is most precious to Him and most needful for you, you can believe that He won’t go back on any of His other promises to you. All of God’s promises find their ‘yes’ in Christ (2 Cor. 1:20).

Your God can bring a clean thing out of an unclean thing. He brings life out of death. He restores and forgives. No matter what you suffer in this life, God still and always loves you because of what Christ has done on the cross for you.

You are God’s children. You can confidently place everything about yourself and all the things around you into God’s hands. Because God is your loving Father, He’ll take care of it all. Return to Him because He is the one who comforts you.

You, believer, are part of this host. Jesus has made you His saint. He has and will make everything sad come untrue. Everything that has been broken will be even more beautiful because it has been redeemed and made new by the blood of Christ.

Christ’s work. His life. His death. His resurrection. His ascension. His victory over sin, death, and the devil is all yours through faith in Him. Through faith, God delivers His righteousness to you.

We can buy back, purchase, and reclaim the time from the forces of evil (Eph. 5:16). Evil spreads, but it doesn’t own our days. God calls us to redeem and reclaim the time back from darkness and evil through our good works.

The paralytic's friends help him by bringing him to Jesus. As Christians we do the same. We eternally help others by bringing them to Jesus at church, by praying for them, and by forgiving them as Christ has forgiven us.
