The Scripture readings are Genesis 50:15-21; Romans 12:14-21; Luke 6:36-42.

Jesus’ statement, “Judge not,” isn’t a blanket prohibition. Christians are called to make judgments in certain courtrooms. But in the heavenly courtroom, we can never usurp Christ’s merciful seat.

The parables of the Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin aren’t about conversion, they are about repentance. Repentance isn’t a thing of the past. Every day Jesus seeks us with joy, carries us home, and heaven celebrates our return.

After deliverance, new struggles often arrive. Abraham knew this “after” where doubt crept in despite God’s promises. Yet, the same God meets you in every “after” as your Shield and great Reward in Christ.

The Trinity isn’t just a doctrine, it’s who God is. Remember that you are known, loved, and sent by the God who has been in conversation about you and your salvation from before the world began.

When Jesus is proclaimed as the Savior who died for your sins, rose for your justification, and is ascended to rule over creation for your benefit, you can be certain the Holy Spirit is at work.

Jesus doesn’t ascend to the throne of creation simply because His work is done here. He ascends to rule and reign over all things from the eternal throne of grace for your benefit (Heb. 4:16).

Christianity is a religion, not a relationship. James teaches us that the only right religion gives us every true relationship with God and makes us joyful doers of His Word.

In a world that looks like the devil is winning, Jesus declares the ruler of this world has already been judged. The Holy Spirit convinces us of Jesus’ victory so we live forgiven, at peace with God, and free from fear.

Christian, you are God’s child now. Don’t be surprised when the world doesn’t see that because it didn’t recognize the Son of God when He came. Live in the purifying hope of becoming like Jesus when He appears.
