The Holy Spirit testifies to justification through faith.

Union with Christ? Or the Uselessness of Christ? Justification through faith and union with Christ are Christ centered while justification by works is man centered.

We are justified through faith. This does not give us license to sin. Legalism makes us transgressors of the law. In Christ, we die to the Law and we live unto God.

Justification is through faith alone.

Christ works to keep the Church faithful.

God is sovereign, and this is no excuse to be lazy. Quite the opposite. His sovereign might calls us to be diligent in our work.

Paul’s introduction is loaded with implications: God recruited him to the ministry, not man. God raised Jesus from the dead. God reconciled you to himself. God rescues sinners.
