Paul preaches Good News from God, not man.

Christ works to keep the Church faithful.

God is sovereign, and this is no excuse to be lazy. Quite the opposite. His sovereign might calls us to be diligent in our work.

Paul’s introduction is loaded with implications: God recruited him to the ministry, not man. God raised Jesus from the dead. God reconciled you to himself. God rescues sinners.

Life is pretty sweet—it’s good to be alive. But we are all going to die. Solomon gives us counsel for how to live well under the Sun before the dark days come.

The Shepherd King is calling us and leading us into order.

The Lord shines his light on Lady Folly for our good.

We should be glad that we live life in the hand of God.

The righteous and the wise live life in the hand of God.

Wisdom is valuable (and practical) in an unjust world.
