Jesus took on flesh and blood to destroy death. He is our champion and our helper.

Cur Deus Homo? - Propitiation and Expiation.

The Problem, the Place, and the Person - Jesus came to rescue us, making propitiation for our sins.

Seeing God's love for the world in both the birth and death of His Son

"Cur Deus Homo" - Why the God-man and who is He? Why did He come to the world?

God cannot be known by human beings; and we could not have a relationship to the extent that God wants it, without the incarnation of Jesus Christ. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature.

This is one of the Messianic Psalms, where all the kingly duties mentioned by or of David were actually perfectly performed by Jesus.

In many ways the Psalm also applies to each of us.

We constantly run after other gods and we need a daily reminder of who our refuge is.
