The refiner’s fire to purges and purifies. Our God is a consuming fire and some day we all will have to pass the test of fire. It would benefit us all to invite the refiner’s fire here and now before we stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Our most powerful motivation to sin no more should be
not to make light of the Blood of Christ!

Nothing is more important than aligning ourselves with the will of God. PS. 127:1 says it’s futile to build or protect what’s built without considering God’s will and perspective. God’s will for us in 2023 is to align ourselves with His priorities. He wants us to experience greater intimacy with Him, to bask in the glory of His presence, to exalt Jesus in our midst and to prepare ourselves for His coming. Are we willing to do our part so God can do His?

Many make resolutions that don’t make it through January 31 –to eat less and exercise more. An easier one would be to eat more and exercise less! As Christians, we don’t need to make a resolution for the New Year. What we need to do, is to yield to the Holy Spirit and allow Jesus to live through our lives.

Jesus is wonderful for many reasons. His conception and birth, His life, ministry, death, resurrection, appearances, coronation, and seating, all make Him the most wonderful man who ever lived. He’s God’s unspeakable gift and His name is wonderful beyond words. But faith is required for the Gospel to benefit us. Are we like Zacharias or Mary?
