Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when Scott interview Beth Saadati.
Beth Saadati has sown her time and heart into the lives of hundreds of teens—and reaped an abundance of laughter and life in return. A certified high school English teacher, she is currently teaching composition classes, homeschooling her son (age nine) and daughter (age twelve), and crafting a novel.
For more than two decades Beth has taught in public school, private school, and home school settings. Jenna, Beth's effervescent firstborn daughter, was her favorite teenage student before Beth lost her, without warning, to suicide resulting from bullying. On January 2, 2013, the world as Beth had known it forever changed.
Now, through speaking and writing, Beth encourages others to fight through heartbreak and hurt as she transparently journeys through the painful aftermath of her beloved daughter's death. Four of Beth’s stories have been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul books in 2015. She was also awarded first place in the SC chapter of American Christian Fiction Writers' first five pages contest.
Beth is working on a young adult novel, Breathe, based on Jenna's true story. At the 2015 Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference (BRMCWC), this book received the BelieversTrust Beyond the Steeple Award for the work deemed to hold the greatest potential to impact a mainstream audience.
