  • A Speak UP Thanksgiving with Carol Stratton & Amy Sullivan
Carol Stratton has written for several publications, including InTouch magazine and Kyria. She is a contributing writer for Forsyth Woman magazine and has been published in two anthologies, Writing so Heaven Will be Different and Extraordinary Answers to Prayers. She speaks to women's groups such as MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), and at national writers’ conferences. She attended Capenwray Bible School in New Zealand. Carol and her husband live in North Carolina and have four children and two grandchildren. Her website, www.ChangingZipCodes.com, helps women who are relocating. Carol’s newest book is a contemporary Christian romance called Lake Surrender.
For the past two years, Amy L. Sullivan looked harder, loved stronger, and discovered more by fixing her gaze on something other than the person staring back at her in the mirror. Amy writes for oodles of print and online publications and loves speaking with groups of any size. Connect with her online at www.AmyLSullivan.com. A portion of the proceeds from her new book When More is Not Enough, will benefit Transformation Village, a new housing development for women, children, and families in crisis in Western North Carolina.

  • Retired Navy Seal Mike Day-Shot 27 Times & Claims Victory in Christ
Mike Day served over twenty-one years on the SEAL Teams, leading his men into battle. On his final mission in Iraq, Mike's team stacked behind him as he led them into a twelve-by-twelve-foot room of a building suspected of housing a group of deadly Al Qaeda insurgents. Mike was shot twenty-seven times and suffered shrapnel wounds from a grenade that detonated within a few feet of where he was standing. Mike reflected on the incident some seven years later: “It was a miracle that I survived; it's still hard to believe!” He spent a year recovering from his wounds. “The military did an outstanding job of treating my physical wounds; however, the neurological and emotional wounds were more difficult to diagnose and treat.”
Although Mike retired from the Navy in 2010, he continues to lead fellow warriors as a full-time case manager and care advocate. Mike inspires those who may be reluctant to seek assistance with PTSD and/or TBI, through his willingness to speak openly about how to effectively recognize and manage symptoms. He also works to provide his fellow wounded warriors with access to customized brain injury treatment programs that offer a non-pharmacological approach to treating TBI and other neurological issues. “While I am grateful for the VA, there are several organizations that are revolutionizing the treatment of brain injuries; one of them is the Carrick Brain Center.” Current estimates suggest that as many as 300,000 former and current service members have some degree of brain injury.
To help Mike raise funds for the care and treatment of wounded warriors and dependent children who have suffered severe brain injuries, check out this link: https://www.crowdrise.com/mikedaystrichallenge/fundraiser/mikeday.

  • Christian Devotions Speak UP! REBROADCAST with DON MOEN
Ask Don Moen what he does, and the answer might surprise you. He won’t say he’s a songwriter, even though he’s written more than 100 songs. He won’t say he’s a worship leader, even though he’s led worship on every continent but Antarctica and recorded numerous albums. He won’t say he’s a businessman or producer, even though he has produced and directed hundreds of successful projects. If you ask Don Moen why God put him on this planet, he’ll tell you, “To be an architect who designs products and events that help people experience God’s presence in a new and fresh way.” And in more than three decades of ministry, he’s had lots of opportunity to fulfill that purpose. His discography reflects his passion to create resources for the church that lead people into an honest and intimate relationship with the Lord.
Don has also received a Dove Award for his work on the musical God With Us and has received multiple Dove Award nominations for his songs, CDs, and choral resources. In addition to his writing and recording, Don makes time to tour domestically and abroad, and has performed with artists such as Chris Tomlin, Twila Paris, Sara Groves, and Paul Baloche, to name a few.
Don is as popular overseas as he is at home in the U.S. His travels for concerts and seminars have taken him to Ghana, South Africa, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Guatemala, Honduras, and elsewhere. Today, Don is President of Don Moen Productions in Nashville, Tennessee, where he resides with his wife Laura and five children.

  • Christian Devotions Speak UP! REBROADCAST Melody Green
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when host Scott McCausey brings on the wife of the late Keith Green to discuss the continuing ministry she and her husband started, Last Days Ministry.
Melody is probably most loved for the songs she’s written.  “There Is a Redeemer” is found in church hymn books around the world, and reports of it being sung in villages in Africa and Asia are plentiful. She has also composed many other standards including, “Make My Life a Prayer To You”, “You Are The One,” “Rushing Wind,” and “The Lord Is My Shepherd.”
Melody’s life is an adventure that just keeps unfolding. Besides writing songs, she is also known internationally as an author and a minister.  She is fearless when it comes to tackling difficult issues and bold in her travels.  She has been to over thirty nations to speak at retreats, conferences, and church services, as well as ministering to men and women in prisons, refugee camps, remote villages, leper colonies, underground churches, and those living in war zones.
Her best-selling book, No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green, has become a must-read classic, translated into numerous languages. To learn more about Melody, her book and ministry, visit www.lastdaysministries.org.
