  • Laughter

Laughter is a wonderful blessing from the Lord. In fact, laughter is also a fascinating Biblical theme. In this sermon from evangelist Billy Dickinson were are reminded of the ancient wisdom of Solomon: there is “a time to weep and a time to laugh” (Ecclesiastes 3:4).

  • Balaam’s Vain Prayer

Balaam was a diviner hired by the Moabites to curse Israel. However, God intervened causing Balaam to do the opposite of what he sought to accomplish – he blessed Israel. As Balaam inadvertently spoke on behalf of the Lord, he prayed these words:
“Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my end be like his!” (Numbers 23:10).
The problem with this prayer, as explained by evangelist Smith Bibens, was that while Balaam desired to die like the righteous he did not seek to live like them. Thus, Balaam’s prayer was vain and useless.

  • The Church’s Greatest Need

Modern congregations have many needs such as more qualified elders and men who are willing to be sent out as evangelists, but evangelist Matthew Barnes proposes that above all else, the church has one, great, overarching need which, if met, would fix what might be otherwise lacking.

  • The Whole Counsel of God

The apostle Paul did not refrain from teaching every divine truth which men and women needed to learn. He described this totality of doctrine as “the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27). Evangelist Zac Evans acknowledges how easy it is to pick and choose what we like from the Bible and ignore the rest, but he also warns us just how dangerous that is.

  • I Know Whom I Believed

No one was more undeserving of the grace of God than the apostle Paul. This is not my option, it was Paul’s! He called himself the chief of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15), and “less than the least of all the saints” (Ephesians 3:8). Yet, somehow, this same man wrote “I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day” as he faced the end of his life (2 Timothy 1:12). Find out what he meant and how we can have the same confidence in this sermon from Austin Maddox.

  • Guarding Our Children

The ever-present influence of the world especially impacts the youth of the church. This means that Christian parents must take special measures to ensure their children know the Lord and the destructiveness of sin. Evangelist Brad Shockley exhorts us to be on guard for our “adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

  • The Judgement Day

The apostle Paul told the men of Athens that God “has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained” (Acts 17:31). The knowledge of a future judgement ought to motivate us to consider where we are headed and what matter most in our lives. Evangelist Bruce Roebuck reminds us a day of judgement is surely ahead.

  • Satan’s Devices

We often view the major upheavals and divisions throughout Christian history as the crafty operation of Satan, but sometimes we miss how the deceiver can plant small seeds of doubt and discouragement into our hearts which can be just as devastating to our walk with Christ as anything.

  • The Man Jesus Couldn’t Save

What is keeping you from having eternal life? For a young man who was a devote adherent to the Law of Moses, the Lord saw that he lacked but one necessary quality – he was not generous with his great wealth. Evangelist Bruce Roebuck points out that many people today resemble this man in that they have something in their lives which hinders them from truly following King Jesus into that eternal abode of the saved.

  • The Gospel of Christ

The power of God is bound up in the good news of Jesus Christ: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). The message of Christ’s death, burial, resurrection, and appearances brought hope to the world (1 Corinthians 5:1-5). Evangelist Bruce Roebuck expounds upon these great themes and shows us how to receive the free gift of salvation offered to the world through Christ.
