Jesus delivered the following commission to His apostles: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20). Understanding and applying the concepts of the great commission will enable each generation of Christians to fulfill it, winning disciples to the cause of Jesus Christ.

The disciples ask a provocative question of the Lord Jesus in John 1:38 when they say “Where are you staying?” In the ancient Jewish world, no public establishments of education (such as modern colleges) were available.  Those interested in becoming ‘disciples’  would entreat a teacher to accept their ‘internship’.
